Heil, Joseph where did you go?

Surname: Heil, Waterman

My grandfather was Joseph Ernest Heil born June 16,1878 in Middlesex County, England. Son of George Heil and Sarah Crossley. Joseph married my grandmother Lillian Waterman December 26,1913 in Rochford Essex, England. They came to Alberta, Canada via New York I beleive around 1915. They seperated shortly after arriving in Canada and Joseph moved to the Lake St.Clair area of Ontario and Lillian to Edgerton, Albeta. My mother is now 84 and would like to know what happened to her father and where he died. Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Angie, would you please send to me the Heil Coat of Arms. I would like to compare it with the Heyl Coao of Arms as it appears in Elizabeth Hoyle Rucker's "The Genealogy of Peiter Heyl and His Decendents" published in 1938. The Heyl/Heil names were used interchangalby in the 15, 16, 17 18th centuries.
Thanks very mucy,

Freiherr Mitchell D. Hoyl

John & Clara Heil, Morrow, OH, his father?

I have started a study of the Heil family for my grandson. I have traced back to a John Heil born in Cardington, Morrow Co. OH – his father and mother born in Germany
b: October 01, 1862 – d: December 26, 1942 –(info from Ancestry.com)
Married Clara E Messenger in 1884 in same county.
In 1900 OH census he was in Westfield, Morrow, OH at age 32 with 4 children born, 3 living. Living next door was an Asa and Addie Messenger
In 1910, same place, age 48 with 6 children born, 4 living, 3 in home (Troy, probably dead and Orrie married, living in Kansas)
In 1920, age 57, 2 children – Elda & Claude in home
In 1930 in at age 67, only Claude in home
Children were all born in Ohio
Troy b: 1884
Orrie John b: September 5, 1888 in Cardington OH; went to Kansas and married Katherine Elsie Porter; d: January10, 1967 while living in Texas
Ivah B. b: 1892
Elda M. b: 1901
Claud H b: 1905

Orrie John Heil’s son was John Alex Heil b: Kansas 1915, d: Texas 1992.

I am trying to determine who John’s father was. I found a Gotleib Heil, living in Belmont County, who has a John in his household about the right age in 1870 & 1880, but further census study raises more questions than answers.
I am trying to find my father's sister. Her name was Annie B Heil, born July 1890 in Louisville Kentucky. She married sometime after 1910 and moved out of state. I do not know what her married name was. I seem to remember my father talking about Detroit or Dayton but I am not sure where she moved to. Does anyone have someone by the name of Annie B Heil, born July 1892 in Louisville Kentucky in their family history? I would love to complete my father's family history. Annie's mother and father were Mary M Mehler and John N Heil.

Area in New Jersey is Bergen County, Paterson, Hackensack.

Adoptee was Born Veronica Heil in Paterson New Jersey in September 1963. Birth mother was born in 1946 in New Jersey. Birth father was born in 1941 (he was attending Notre Dame University at the time of birth mother's pregnancy).

Maternal Grandmother worked at a slipper factory. We think it may be the Goldberg Slipper Company.

Maternal Grandfather worked for a company for 33 years. We believe it may be the actual Heil trucking company.

He became superintendent and was sent all over the country servicing all sorts of trucks and construction equipment.

Interested in contact with anyone descended from this family. I have gone back five generations in Germany and am now trying to compile a record of descendants. Immigrant to Aitken and later Northfield, Minnesota, was Georg Friedrich Heil [1827-1907]of Liedolsheim, Baden, Germany. He was a baker and widower of Eva Christianna Jammerthal, and immigrated with four of his children through New York in 1880. Daughter Johanne Christina married Karl Friedrich Seitz and settled in Northfield. Daughter Louisa Sophia married Louis Martin Gamer and settled in Northfield, then Litchfield, and finally Minneapolis. Two sons were Christopher Ludwig [Louis] [1856-1933] and Leopold Friedrich [1864-1902]. Note: we wioll be changing internet providers. After about 14 Jan 2000, our new e-mail address should be Chuckieblaney@mediaone.net.

Heil ancestors from Kaiserslautern, Mannheim and Weinheim (Germany, Baden-Württemberg)

My wife's grandmother's maiden name is Heil. Her ancestors came from Kaiserslautern and Mannheim and settled later in Weinheim. Should you have ancestors with the name HEIL from this part of Germany, Baden-Württemberg (then just known as Baden), expecially a crossing of Heil and Bitzer, Heil and Müller, Heil and Boeck (emigrated to the states- Edward Boeck died in Colorado in 1967), Heil and Köhler (Koehler), then there is a good possibility that we are related. I only have data on the HEILS back to approx. 1830.

More data on my wife's family:

My wife's ancestors start with a certain Peter Freiburg (1838-1911) from Hitdorf (catholic family) and extend through the following surnames and locations: Kremer-Cremer (Hitdorf / Lommersum), Orth (Lützenkirchen / Opladen), Köhler-Koehler (Weinheim, Mannheim, Feudenheim), Heil (Weinheim, Kaiserslautern), Laudenklos (Hohensachsen / Mannheim), Lehn (Hohensachsen / Großsachsen / Lützelsachsen), Hornig and Umstädter / Umstaedter (Mannheim / Feudenheim). Most of these locations, with the exception of Hitdorf and Allendorf are in present day Baden-Württemberg, Hitdorf is part of Leverkusen in present day North-Rhein-Westfalia. The Freiburg family had a large tobacco factory in Hitdorf. Part of the Lehn family emigrated and settled in Youngstown, OHIO in the 1850s. I just received a great deal of this information in the last weeks. THANKS! Mark Rosenthal (bonncaruso@web.de)

My father's aunt Della SEEFELD married Otto HEIL. They lived for many years in Tomahawk, Lincoln County, Wisconsin. The couple had no children, so when Della died, Dad was her only heir. Among other things the inheritance included a small suitcase filled with photos, mostly unidentified. I'm hoping someone will recognize a photo or two and give me a little info on the HEIL family. Photos and obits are posted at http://www2.whidbey.net/seefeld/The%20Otto%20Heil%20Web%20Pa...

I'm looking for information on my ancestor Hans Mattheis Heil (B before 1645 Graben Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Baden). He was married to Anna Barbara, who I know nothing about. I descend from their son Reinhard Renninger. According to what I have found they died when Reinhard and his sister were very young and so they were raised by their godparents (who had the last name Renninger) and they took on their godparents' name. If anyone could add any more information that would be great.

I tend to haunt antique stores when I am not doing genealogy research - I have in my possession a Marriage License from the State of Texas, County of Wichita for Patricia Ann Heil. It is dated 18th February 1954.

I would like to get this official (raised seal) document back to her if that is possible. Or to an heir. Only if this is not possible, I would like for it to go to a family member doing genealogy research.

Jacob Heil in Rye NY

I have some info on a Jacob Heil in Rye NY. It comes from my mother (Adele Mullinax Austin) who is Jacob's grandaughter. She says Jacob Heil married Cora Kniffin and they lived in Rye NY. They had the following children: George, Charles, Alice, Frank, Cora and Robert. Alice was my Mom's mother. My mother believes that Jacob died around 1904 while trying to save a woman who was drowning off Rye Beach. Her grandmother, Cora Heil, then took in boarders to help support her children. She knew her Aunt Cora best as she moved to Manhattan and lived near my Mom when she was growing up. None of this is documented but I do have some additional info from a cousin I found on the Internet (also not documented). If this sounds like your family, let me know.

He has actually traced the family name all the way back to Johann Peter Heil, who first emigrated to upstate NY from Germany in 1823. I'll share what I have if anyone's interested.
