I have an Alexander Impola in my family who was married to Britha Liisa Haapakangas. She had two children with him Henry and Margareeta. Britha later married Juho Leinonen. I have no idea what happened to Alexander. Henry changed his last name to Newman when he came to the US.

This is a response to David Cindi or anyone else related to the children of David Henry Heinonen and Naimi Elizabeth (nee: Niemi) Heinonen. Their children's names were Tyne Ida Sophia b. 1911, Nestor Hendrick b. 1912, Wiena Maria b. 1914, Mayme "Mae" Emilia b. 1916, Leonard Michael b. 1918, Ale "Allen" August b. 1920, Elvi Lillian b. 1922, and Ernest Adolph b. 1924; all their children were born in Minnesota (Becker, Crow Wing & St. Louis Counties). A great uncle on my father's side married Mayme "Mae" Emilia Heinonen and I will be happy to share the information I have on this family. Best Regards, Esther

Emma HEINONEN was my paternal grandmother. As we all know, records frequently MISSPELL names! This census mentioned did as well. As a reminder.. Pls. check all conceivable spellings of surnames. I happened to personally know my grandmother when she was living.

Hi ! I was just tooling around the Ancestry boards & saw an old posting of yours re: John Edward Impola. I think we might have a connection: My great grandparents were Matti
Imp(p)ola & Maria Sluuki Imp(p)ola...and Matti had a brother John Edward who married Anna Elizabeth Waldmann. I have a copy of a 1911 Shell Lake Township property map in Becker Co. MN where the John & Matti held property next to each other. Please contact me if you think we can make a connection. I would love to hear from you. Esther

Heinonen family thru Canada, settling in Mn. and Wisconsin

Hi... I am responding to your inquiry only because my grandmother Emma Louisa was a Heinonen. She married Joseph LaCost.... There was some kind of disagreement that splintered Emma with her family. After that Emma kept in contact with only one brother. I don't know what the problem was...But, the future generations were not introduced to one another and Emma's family knew nothing of the Heinonen family other than that one brother. She never spoke of her birth family again. Emma Louisa Heinonen died in Jan. 1980. She was buried in Wisc. Her father and mother were Kalle Victor Heinonen and Amanda Kumlander. The Heinonen family originally settled in Finlayson, Mn. when they came to the United States, and I'm sure many are still there.
I hope some of this sounds familiar to you...
I have many more names from the Heinonen family: Hillman, Kumlander,
Olsson, Wickstrom, Olsdotter, Mattson, Lundstrom.... and more.

? for David & Cindy about David Heinonen

Hello
I am trying to locate any information on David Heinonen. I believe he is your great grand father on your mothers side. He died somewhere between 1924-1930. I found him in the 1920 census with his wife Naimi Niemi and their five kids then in the 1930 census Naimi is listed as a widow with seven kids. The last being six years old so I guess he could have died sometime after 1924 but before the 1930 census. I have checked the Minnesota death index but have been unable to find any record of his death under the name David Heinonen. Is David his middle name? Did he died in another state?
I am researching the Heinonen Family I am the great grand daughter of David's brother Gust Heinonen. I am having a hard time trying to locate information.
If you would like I can send you the information I have so far via snail mail. If that would help make it easier.

Thank you for any thing you can help me with.
Lissa

Re: Heinonen family thru Canada, settling in Mn. and Wisconsin

Hi. I am just starting to research my family's history, but I'm not very good at it yet so I am looking for all the help I can get. I do know however that my grandfather's, Ernest Heinonen, family was from Canada. He was born in 1917, but he could have been born in Michigan and then moved to Canada, I am not exactly sure. Eventually he settled in Minnesota. Right now I am searching for his parents. If you have any possible information it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello
I have gotten a little further then I was. I was stuck at the Heinonen name for about six years I am finally starting to find info about the Wuollet line. Still have not gotten past Gust Heinonen. I have conflicting names for his father. his death certificate says Mike Heinonen but only lists his mother's last name as Ketonen. I also have Werner 's death certificate and his also list Mike Heinonen as his father but list his mother as Ida Kettonen. But somewhere I can't remember were I got the name Ferdinand Heinonen as his fathers name. I wrote to Charles Gust's son to see what information he can give me. Worst case I have to send away for a copy of Gust's app for a Social Sercrity Card and see who he listed as his parents.
Email me and we can share info that we have.
Allissa Smith
lissa01@msn.com
Hello. Alan Corder is my Uncle and Earl is my brother. I am also doing research on this line of my family. I am stuck on the Woullet line and also further back on the Heinonen side. Sorry I'm not being more specific. I don't have my notes here with me(I'm at school). I would love to hear from you and trade info, although it sounds like you probably already have the info that I do.

Hi Lissa,
I was searching for information on my family when I saw your posts.
Gust Wm.Heinonen was my grandfather. He died in 1968 in Cook, MN. His wife was Emma Wuolett. Emma died when my dad was a little boy in Osage, MN.
Gust had a brother, Warner Heinonen, who died a few years after he did.
My dad is Charles Heinonen, and lives in Cook, MN.
Oscar Heinonen, my uncle, lived with our family for many years before moving to Maryland. (Glen Bernie, I think) He was a Korean war vet as you said.
My dad's sister, Amy Holm, died last year in Alango, MN. Her obituary is posted at www.cookmn.com
If there is anything else you would like to know, please contact me at: gheinonen@hotmail.com
Oscar married Nellie K Walker on 1952 in Fort Bragg N.C they had seven kids one of which my mom she was born on jan 28 1954 in St Lukes Hospital and poss.. lived at 5112 Rosevelt st. That is about all I know I know Oscar had other brothers unsure about sisters. My mom remembers Oscar saing someone owned a resort or logg unsure. If you can please email me with more info This would help me to put this puzzle together a little faster.
Hello,
I am searching for my mother’s grandfather Iikka Heinonen. He was born 1.1.1870 in Pyhäjärvi and he died (as my uncle believes) 1.1.1920 in America, but I don’t where. He travelled to Canada in 1905. He sent his family a letter with tickets to America, but his wife Kaisa didn’t want to travel. Iikka Heinonen didn’t write never again. My grandmother Hellin was six years old when her father went away.
Iikka Heinonen was a very good carpenter. He had made many beautiful furniture to his wife.
I am interested to find information about my grandmother’s father and perhaps his new family.
Please write to my e-mail erja.viuhkola@luukku.com
I am grateful of any information

Yours Erja Viuhkola
Finland
