Re: West Virginia Heinzes/Montana Heinzes!

Hi Brandy,

First of all, I so hope this reaches you. I am Virginia Dare Heinze, daughter to Joe and Myrtle (Boggs) Heinze, we lived in Saberton, a suburb to Morgantown. Joe was a younger brother to George, Sr. I remember spending many happy hours in the home of Uncle George and Aunt Anna Mae (Rosnick) Heinze. I also remember Stella Mae and Bud. Do you remember Aunt Anna Mae's spaghetti and meat balls served outside under the big tree? Could you be one of those cousins?

I found this information in another message:
"My paternal grandfather's name was George Raymond Heinze. I'm not sure if he had any siblings. His family came from somewhere in either PA or NJ. His father's name was John Matthew Augustus Heinze, and his mother's name was Katherine Murray Heinze. My Dad used to tell me that she was part native american - Mingo is what he told me."

Katherine Murray Heinze was my "Granny Heinze". She stood about 4'11" and used to grab my 6' Daddy, Joe by the ears and pull him down to her so she could talk to him. Another family story was that Grandpa John used to come home after working in the WV mines and have to look for his bed because Granny moved everything to clean. His joke was that he was going to tie a string to the door knob and the bed post so he could find the bed when he got home from work. I never heard the story about Granny being part native American. I was told that she was from Germany as was Grandpa John.

I was also told that Grandpa John (Born 4-9-1869 and Died 10-19-1935) and a brother Frank Augustus Heinze moved from Germany but separated early on with Frank moving to Montana. It is kinda strange seeing that today’s date is 10-19-2009, like it was the right time for us to find each other.

For more information about our family, where it lists John’s place of birth as Frostberg, Allegany Co., MD and his father was Augustus Heinze follow the link in the message below. The message is one that I sent back in 2007 in hopes of finding out more about our family. You will find a list of all your father’s siblings and much more there. I don’t remember how I found this web site but it is wonderful!
===========
Subject: Heinze////Ahlborn/Thiele Family
Mon, 17 Dec 2007 22:48:04 -0500
Greetings, I'm so happy! Found my family this evening. On page http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=AHN&db=charlog... I am the Living HEINZE. Virginia Dare Heinze BD: Jan. 5, 1944, Marlinton, WV My mother: Myrtle Odella Boggs Heinze BD: July 21, 1918, Neola, WV
Would love to hear from you and learn more. Thanks, Virginia
===========

I’ll close for now and pray that you receive this message and are able to reply.

God bless you.

Your cousin,
Virginia (Ginny)

PS: I'm also going to send this message to you using my email address (mailto:ginnysdesigns@msn.com) in the hope that we can connect.
I've got info on a number of Heinze ancestors in St. Louis.

Henry Heinze immigrated from Germany in the years prior to 1852 with wife Mary. Started having kids in St. Louis in 1852: Henry, Jr; Jacob, Fred, Anne, Katie. Jacob married Katie Wolff and had Walter, Richard, and Edna. Walter married Dorothy Church and left St. Louis as a traveling salesman.

Other surnames in this tree, all from St. Louis: Wolff, Kreuger, Kupferer, Goldkamp

I'm currently searching for ship name, debarkation point, dates, origin of Henry Heinze. Also any roll Henry had in Civil War (1870 census says he was a blacksmith).

Hi Tom,
Give me an E-mail and I can send a scan of the tree. Being a Goldkamp, its good to know the other Goldkamps when you run across them.
Clarence's father, Frank (Franz) was born in Illinois and raised in O'ffallon, St Charles county. Clarence's grandfather, Franz Heinrick, came over from Germany in 1867 or so.
My Gr Grandfather was his younger brother and met Franz in Illinois when he came over, Ferdinand eventually ended up in San Diego California.
In any case, Clarence was the middle of 8. The eldest died when a child. The youngest became a nun.(Marcella changed to Sister Madeline Sophie none as sister Sophie)
An older brother and a younger sister appeared to have quite large families. Clarence had an uncle who married and died relatively young but also had a family. They were located in St.Charles.
Things to watch out for:
1) There was another Franze Heinrick Goldkamp who came over around the same time and settled in Philadelphia and had a big family.
2)There are Goldkamp's in Conneticut and around there who came from my group in San Diego in the '40's.
3)The Ohio GoldCamps who came over 20 years earlier. I don't know how they are related.
I have a picture with Clarence as a young man at his grandfather's 50th aniversary. My Greatgrandfather is also there.
Mike Goldkamp

Our family trees are connected, rather distantly, through Clarence Goldkamp and Gertrude Kupferer. Gertrude's father, Joseph Kupferer married Annie Heinze, one of my great-aunts. Joseph was rather famous in St. Louis in the 1860-70's and I have a short bio that was printed in the paper at time of death as well as a photograph dating to about 1870. I also have photos of Clarence's and Gertude's gravesites in St. Louis if you're interested.

I'd be interested in parents and siblings of Clarence as well as any descendants of Clarence and Gertrude if you care to share. Thanks.

Hello! I´m searching for relatives and any information about my ancestors. Mainly I´m searching for HEINZE in SILESIA (Seitendorf=Ponitatow, Altwasser=Stary Zdroj, Waldenburg=Walbrzych). My great grandfather´s name was JOSEF HEINZE, born on Oct., 31. in 1884 (don´t know where). Also I´m searching for relatives of my geat grandmother MARTHA ELSNER, born on June, 06. in 1881 (maybe she was born in Rengersdorf/Glatz).
Besides for my great grandmother SELMA HERZOG, she was married with ROBERT MÜLLER (Seitendorf or Altwasser).
Unfortunately I know nothing about Rober Müller, but I do know the names of the parents and grandparents of Selma Herzog. Parents: HENRIETTE ERNESTINE LUDWIG, born Aug., 08. 1855 in Nieder Salzbrunn and PAUL HERZOG, born March, 10. in 1852 in Altwasser; grandparents: JOHANNA ERNESTINE HAHN and ERNST GOTTLIEB LUDWIG, CHARLOTTE KORN and KARL AUGUST HERZOG.
Heinze family of St. Louis

My grandmother was Elsie Louisa Minna HEINZE born March 13, 1905 in Badger SD. Her father was Johann Gottfried Otto HEINZE born July 5, 1873 in Wiesenthal, Posen, Germany married Louise PIEHL. His father was W. Edward HEINZE born Dec 13, 1848 in Wiesenthal, Posen, Germany married Wilhelmina STOLPE. His father was Gottfried Johann HEINZE. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
I have an Elizabeth Heinze, born (we think) in Cassel Germany, probably in first half of 1800's; married Anton Schmidt of Frankfort, had daughters Antonia, Elizabeth and "Minnie". Suppose Antonia born around 1870. Any information?
