Emma Hellums m. John Mow in Indiana in 1860s

Surnames: HELLUMS, HELMS, MOW
I'm stuck on the ancestry of Emma Hellums, the mother of my great grandfather John Samuel Mow. Her husband John was born in Ohio in 1816. He was previously married to an Eliza or Elizabeth. Emma Hellums was born in 1840s. Emmas died on 1 Jan 1873 in Marysville (Potomac) Vermilion co., Illinois, John died two weeks later. According to her granddaugher, Emma Hellums was crippled, the daugher of a doctor of Kokomo or Wabash, Indiana. I have never seen the name written, and it may well be Helms
