Who is husband of Lorena Nolen Hellums?

Would like to identify the husband of Lorena Nolen. Did they marry in Texas? Who are the children. Parents?

Lorena N. Hellums born 10/16/1903 in Denton TX; died 8/18/1993 in Placerville, California. Age 89. Resident of Douglas Flat, Calaveras Co California. She was an RN at the Bret Harte Sanitarium in Murphys. Her granddaughter is Carole Peruse. This info came from the Angels Mortuary Book # 11, page 49.

The California Death Index notes her mother's maiden name as Cleaveland [Cleveland?] and father's as Nolen. Death recorded in El Dorado Co California.

Will appreciate any information that will help answer my questions.

Unfortunately, Aunt Martha Jane Hellums Spell had no children. Whe married Ernest Spell and lived in Fairdealing Missouri.

We must be different family trees.

Hi Tina. We are definitely related if the pictures you have posted are linked. William is my great grandfather. Joseph Uery Hellums (Uncle Joe) was my grandad's brother. Thomas Daniel Hellums (Uncle Daniel) was my grandad.

I am also related through the Spradlings. More about that connection when you e-mail me.

I was elated to see the Alexander name appear. I have been trying to connect the dots back to William Alexander.

Noticed there was a daughter named Martha Jane. My
ggrandmother was Martha ? Hellums McAnally. She married
James A McAnally. They had a son Wilburn Owen McAnally
and a son named Charley. Not yet sure of names of other
children. My father (George "Carl" McAnally)was born in
Paden, MS and met my mother (Mary Elizabeth Counce)while
living in Corinth, MS.
Could your Martha Jane be the same? Please let me know
of any possible connection. Martha is the only Hellum

I am the great granddaughter of George Raymond Hellums and
Lula Mae Leatherwood, born June 9, 1886. Additional info on
Lula's parents includes, William Leatherwood born 1841 in
Tn and died 1910. He was married to Dosha (I think I remember my grandmother saying her name was Dosha Beth) George who died in 1920. Possible parents of William, Wiley
B. Leatherwood wifes name Ann. I have Ann born in NC in 1813. Much of this info is from oral history.

Lots of Williams in my family tree. My Grandfather is William Troy Hellums. I have an uncle James William Hellums and another uncle named William Leon Hellums. We are a small Arkansas branch of the Hellums line.

I have information on the HELLUMS - PURDON lines. I descend from John Purdon and Frances Hellums. They had a son named Alexander Carl Purdon who married Susan A. PHILLIPS. Alex and Susan had a daughter named Martha Washington Purdon who married James Harvey GRAY. James and Martha had a son named James Carl Gray (my father) who married Lillie Mae OLIVER. Alex and Susan A. (Phillips) Purdon had a second child, a daughter named RUTH. Our family has no other information on Ruth. We would love to know what happened to her.

To answer your query concerning Esquire Wilson Hellums, I can assure you that my Grandfather (George Raymond Hellums) was one of Esquire Wilson Hellums son.
My Father (Charles Clinton Hellums) is one of the sons of George Raymond Hellums.

Glad you had the information. The Mow line is my husband's line through John Adam Mow (1792) and Margaret Martin (1799), his father was John Samuel Mow and Eva Catherine Hartzell, John Samuel's father was Johann Samuel Mau (1718 in Hemmingen, Wurtemberg, Germany) and Anna Catherine Krempe (1725 Soudern, Baden, Germany). Have not been able to find either of these in Germany even though I have searched the above parishes in Germany.
I have been working on the Mow line for many years and have enjoyed corresponding with many of the Mow family. I have been trying to find what became of the children of John Mow and his first wife Eliza and the children of his second wife Harriet Emily. I will be happy to share any information I have on the Mow family,

Thank you for responding. Yes, I have discovered this over the past months--but appreciate your confirmation. Are you related? I have Isaac Helm's parents as Henry Helm and Matilda (daughter of John) Cosson; and Henry as the son of John Helm and Ann Boyd. I have yet to learn much about Barbara Poorman's ancestry beyond Daniel and Catherine (Bonbright) and Daniel Poorman. Harriet Emily Helm m. John Mow and were the parents of my paternal grandmother's father John Samuel Mow.

Harriet Emily Helm was the daughter of Isaac Chauncy Decatur Helm, (a doctor) born 24 Sep 1811 in Washington, TN. He died Mar 1850 in , Delaware, IN. His wife was Barbara Poorman b 1820 in PA the daughter of Daniel Poorman and Catherine Bonbright. 1850 Barbara and Emily are living with the Jacob Poorman family in Centre, Delaware, IN. Barbara md. Jacob Ewing 25 Nov 1852. In 1870 this family in Warren, Warren, IN with their 3 children.

Hello!! I would like to apologize in advance. You see, I don't have any information regarding your family. I am in fact looking for some information myself. I was in the US Army during Desert Storm. I was stationed in Hanau, Germany with a man, who turned out to be one of my best friends while I was a soldier, named David Benz from Arkansas.He was married to a woman named Pam. All the info that I have acquired from others say that Jonathan Hellums and Mary Hargett are the parents of Esquire Wilson Hellums. I would, however, appreciate the data you have if it could shed any other light on this. Thanks very much.

Mary Ann Helms b.1859 married Benton McGuire 1877 in Greene Cty.,IN. She was the daughter of Byrum Helms b. 1832 married Angeline Smith 11/25/1852. She was born 1833. I have extensive research and verification on this family.

Mary Hellum (Hellman??) lived 1896 June 2 to 1899 June 9 and died in Rice Lake, Barroun County, WI. Perhaps Norwegian roots, she was married to John Nordenfoss, who came from Sweden to Rice Lake. After the death of Mary he married Olga Solberg, from Norway.Any information is welcomed.

Maybe there has been a family connection to the belowmentioned Hellum, found in the Norwegian website Digitalarkivet, Norwegians in Wisconsin according to 1880 Census.

I Have researched as far as I know how. Also where did the Hellums's come from. Saw a show on vikings once on the Discovery channel. There was a Hellums name for a place there. GEORGE M. HELLUMS (son of George Hellums and Elizabeth Alexander) was born Abt. 1812 in Knox County, Tennessee, and died Aft. 1850. He married FANNY REID August 09, 1839 in Roane County, Tennessee. She was born Abt. 1822 in Tennessee, and died Aft. 1850.
