His children by a first wife were Melton Augustus Helms, Sarah A.E. Helms, Martha M. Helms and Selitha Helms. Widower Hiram Helms and his children lived with Hiram's parents until he remarried. Who was the mother of Hiram's children?

After the death of his first wife Hiram Helms married Mrs. Mary A. Hollaway, a widow with three children. I can't find Hiram on a census after the 1860 census. His brother, Coleman named a son Hiram (age 12 in 1860) in his honor. Did Hiram die? Move away from Coffee Co.? What happened to him? Can anyone help?
