I am trying to locate relatives of my birth father. His name was Henry Helton. He was born in Kentucky. At my birth on 11/15/1944 in Bunker, Missouri he was 30 years old. He was a traveling salesman. He took me to California with him when I was 6 years old and left me with friends. I am interested in learning any information on medical history.

I am looking for any relatives of my husbands father. His name was Henry Helton. He was married to Alpha Jean Wisdom Helton for a short time in early 1940's. James Ray Helton was born Nov. 15, 1944. Henry was 30 years old at the time of his birth. Henry was a traveling salesman. He took Jim to California when he was 6 years old and left him with friends or relatives while he worked. Henry was born in Kentucky but that is all we know.

Hello;
I am researching my husband's family. His great-grandmother, Rebecca Engle Fore married N.J. Helton in Knox County, KY on Dec 31, 1918. He was 65 years old and she was 52. According to the marriage license his parents were W.J. and Mary Helton. Rebecca's parents were Joshua Engle and Malinda Foley Engle. Any help about N.J. Helton would be appreciated. Would anyone know when he died or where at? We think Rebecca died in Taylor County at her daughter's home so that would mean that he probably died first. Tonite i recieved the most wonderful Valentines Day gift,a true gift of love,
from a man i never knew,
yet am related to,

I recieved,names,dates,places,and
pages in books,and book numbers,
on my Kentucky Heltons(my dads side of the Heltons) back many many many generations,

God Bless my daddy and his 'stories' about our people,

oh,i'm so excited,because as most everyone knows,
many Bibles have names,but not details,
so i had lots of names,
plus memories of the stories written to me,
by my GreatAunt Ida,most all my life,
and stories my daddy told me all my life,

i just needed the right person to make them into facts,with dates attached, and today i recieved just that.

AND we have a new cousin,

as you all know,it hasn't been easy for me,to stick on my search,on the forums,

but this shows, that anything can happen,
if you truly BELIEVE.

Hello, I am trying help a friend locate her birth mother and was hoping some one on here my have some info to help. My friend was born Terry Neal in 1981 in Oklahoma, to mother Vivian L Hilton. It was said but not verified that Vivian was born about 1961 in either Colorado or Illions. Vivian may have had family in Bakersfield CA, Phonix AZ and Rising Star TX.

Maxine SteeleMaxine Helton Steele, 78, of Corbin, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.

Mrs. Steele was born on August 25, 1929, in Knox County, a daughter to the late Willard Helton and the late Dora Wright Helton.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Frank Steele;
two brothers, Harold and Glenn Helton;
one sister, Norma Helton; and
one grandson, Ernie Steele Jr.

Mrs. Steele was of the Baptist faith and a member of Candle Ridge Baptist Church.

She was an avid volunteer at Chapel House, Friendship House and the Corbin Senior Citizens Group.

Mrs. Steele had previously worked at RCA in Cincinnati, Elicon of Corbin, local restaurants and she retired as a Tupperware sales manager.

Survivors include two sons, Jackie Steele Sr. and wife Joyce of London, and
Ernie Steele and wife Lynn of Ashland;
one brother, James Helton of Jackson;
four sisters, Peggy Hutton of Gray, Myrna Elliott of Cincinnati, Ohio, Betty Medlin of Gray and Bonnie Engle of Gray;
12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;
and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, relatives and
loved ones.

To the family of Mrs. Steele, the staff of Corbin Funeral Home would like to offer you our heartfelt sympathy during your time of bereavement.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Corbin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Smith officiating.

Really could use some help

I have been researching My fathers side of the family to trace my Indian heritage. I was doing well but I have run into a road block. My gg grandfather was William Heltion born in NC June of 1870 and died March of 1972. The problem is that in the 1920 Census he is William Heltion married to Martha with son Charles but in the 1910 Census his last name is Helton with the same wife and son.
If anyone has any info on a William Helton Born in 1870 I would greatly appriceate the help.

I am seeking info re Dewey Helton b. abt. 1890 in AL d, 01 Jan 1964, Colbert Co., AL. He married Maschel "Mack" Wilson.
She was b. 1899 & d. 1968 Colbert Co., AL.

I have not been able to find any records for him or his wife. I believe Dewey was his middle name.

The couple had six children, 3 boys & 3 girls. I believe the children were all born in the 1920's. It is possible that some of the children may be still living. I am reluctant to post the names of living individuals.

One of their son's had the nickname "Bunk", I don't have his actual name.

Rebecca was my great grandmother. Married a Falkenberry in Monroe County, AL. My grandfather was Jenkins Sawyer Falkenberry. There are some Helton's here in Baldwin County, AL that are related. John Helton is one. I am trying to trace her line back farther and can't seem to get past her marriage. She and my great grandfather lived in Tunnel Springs, AL. My grandfather was born in 1899 in Tunnel Springs. She had 12 or 13 children. Please e-mail me if you have any clues or would like information on either the Falkenberry's or Helton's in this area now. We also have Pittman's and Harrison's that are from the same general area and dates that I have a copy of research done by an aunt which goes back to Rebecca and Jenkins Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Alpha Peggy (Tolley) Helton,
whom he married on December 10th, 1951 in Georgetown, Kentucky;
two daughters, Ruby Lee Helton Reeser Vedar and Vickie Lynn (and Michael) Cornell;
one brother, Jesse T. Helton, Dixie Bend Community;

He was born January 6th, 1916 in Sloans Valley, Kentucky, the son of the late John Helton and Dovie Bertha Hill. He was a United States Army Veteran, an assistant track supervisor for Southern Railroad, where he worked for 40 years and a member of Sloans Valley Baptist Church, Burnside, Kentucky.

He is survived by three sons, Brother Johnnie (and Shirley) Helton, Somerset, Kentucky, Gerald (and Leona) Helton and Frankie (and Reida) Helton, both of Burnside, Kentucky; two daughters, Loretta (and Thomas) Foster and Thelma Shelley, both of Greenwood, Indiana; three sisters, Goldie (and Fred) Flynn, Somerset, Kentucky, Lela (and Willie) Ellis, Burnside, Kentucky and Betty (and Rev. Harlan) Avera, Somerset, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Sandy Kammer, Drenda Pinkleton, Grove Foster, Leonard Foster, Eddie Wayne Hutchinson and Jonathan E. She was a kind person who will greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn her passing.

(I think he was part Cherokee) He married Liza Jane "Jinnie" Conley in the late 1800's or early 1900's. I think he died in the late 1950's or early 1960's. Rua Helton died peacefully on Feb. 17, 2008 at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland, MS.

He was born May 3, 1924 in Claiborne County, TN.

Mr. Helton lived for many years in Dayton, Ohio and worked for Reynolds and Reynolds Company for 40 years.

After retirement, he moved back to Morristown, in 1998, Rua and Ruth moved to Mississippi to live with their daughter Patci and her husband.

Rua was a devoted and loving husband to wife Virginia Ruth.

He was a committed role model to his children, and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He had a great sense of humor.

He lived by faith and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death
his parents P.A. and Lurie Bull Helton,
by siblings, Rueben, Luther, Lillard, Elvey, Ernest, Elore and Relda, and by
a son, S. Wayne Helton.

Rua is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Ruth Helton of Ridgeland, MS, by brother Alfred Ellis Helton of Morristown, by daughter Patci Haller and husband Bob of Ridgeland, MS, by sons Edd Helton and wife Gloria of Cumming, GA, Jeff Helton and wife Laurel of Bristol, TN, by daughter-in-law Julie Helton of Buda, TX, and by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The Helton family will receive visitors on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 12-1:30 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home, Morristown, with a service to follow at 1:30 p.m.

A graveside service will follow at Hamblen Memorial Gardens.

She was a daughter of the late Edgar P. and Rhoda Caroline Warfield Helton born on February 8, 1913 at Wilton.

Mrs. Peace was a former homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Baptist Church at Gray.
She enjoyed working word search puzzles and reading her Bible.

On February 14, 1931, she united in marriage with Rufus Glen Peace and to this union three children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus, on November 25, 1962;
a daughter, Jan Rose Johnson;
a son, Hays Edward “Bo” Peace;
three sisters and their husbands, Murrell and Royce Trosper, Thelma and Jason Engle and Elsie and Willie Anderson;
a granddaughter, Deborah Jan Johnson;
two sons-in-law, Robert “Bo” Hurd and Wayne Johnson;
and two daughters-in-law, Lorene Peace and Eula Peace.

Mr. Helton was a former Dorman Products employee and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Blue Ash, OH.

He faithfully served in the United States Army.

On June 6, 1959, he united in marriage with Vivian Bingham in Jellico, TN and to this union a son was born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers, Bessie, Esom and Wesley Helton.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Helton of Norwood, OH;
a son, Terry D. Helton and wife, Carla, of Cincinnati, OH;
three sisters, Anna McKeehan and husband, Jesse,
and Edith Baker and husband, Frank, all of Goshen, OH
and Margaret Phelps of Milwaukee, WI;
a brother, Pat Helton and wife, Liza Mae, of Lexington;
two grandchildren, Aaron and Holly Helton both of Cincinnati, OH;
among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn his passing.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, December 3 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Mike Curee officiating.

Mr. Helton will be laid to rest in the Binghamtown Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.

SULPHUR-James E. Helton, JR., 51, died Monday, December 9, 2002, in his residence.
He was a native of Natchez, Mississippi., and was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was employed by Lyondell Chemical Refinery as a pipefitter.
Survivors include his mother, Kathleen Helton of Sulphur; one son, Scott Helton of Sulphur; one daughter, Katie Helton of Sulphur; three brothers, Chip Helton of Silsbee, Texas, Jeff "Bo" Helton of Sulphur, and Keith Helton of Iowa; and his grandmother, Ada Helton of Opelousas.
His funeral will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 11, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Sulphur.
Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Sulphur, under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10AM Tuesday in the funeral home.

Harold Helton, Jr. 58 years of age died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Norton-Suburban Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was a native of Louisville and a retired electrician for General Electric in Louisville.

Survivors include:

two sons: Eugen Helton and Shawn Helton,
one daughter: Wynee Hardin, and a half-brother: Mike Coleman.

Three Grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, April 13, 2001, Resthaven Funeral Home in Louisville, KY. with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation was held Thursday, April 12, 2001, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Geraldine (Gerry) Helton 82, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Nov. 7, 2006, after a massive heart attack.
She was born December 3, 1923 in Washington, D.C. to Anna W. (Downs) and William H. Hermann.
After graduating from Eastern High School and business school she went to work at the British Embassy.
She was married to Robert Remling October 2, 1942 and together they had three daughters.
They moved to Colorado in 1946 and worked at Fort Lyon Veterans Hospital.

Gerry and her daughters moved to Security, CO in 1961.
Gerry was an administrative assistant to the Commanding General at Fort Carson.
In 1968 she married Victor Helton and in 1994 they moved to Bullhead City, Arizona.

Gerry was a member of the VFW post 4051, REA#1, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and Moose Lodge #244. She was also a member of the Fifth Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.

Gerry is survived by her husband Victor of Bullhead City, AZ daughters; Carol (Charles) Trujillo of Albuquerque, NM, Judy (Richard) Christian of Fountain, CO, Betty (Jack) Bell of Lathrop, MO and Vicci (Charles) Farney of Watertown, NY. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Augusta Smith.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, November 12 at Swan Law Mortuary, 501 N Cascade Ave. Services will be held at Memorial Gardens Chapel 3825 Airport Rd at 11:00 am Monday November 13.

HICKORY - Donald "Don" Clyde Helton, 60, of White Eagle Ranch Road, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 22, 2007, at his residence.

Born Oct. 27, 1946, in Catawba County, he was the son of Catherine Bolick Helton of Hickory and the late Clyde Franklin Helton. Don fought a courageous battle with MS for 30 years. He was a retired pharmacist and former owner of Mountain View Drug Store. Don was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne Collage and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his pharmacy degree. He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and was very committed and active in the church, especially the choir.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Watts Helton of the home; his mother, Catherine Bolick Helton of Hickory; sons, Donald "Clay" Helton of the home and Damon Matthew Helton of Los Gatos, Calif.; a daughter, Kristi Ann Helton of the home; a grandson, Justin DeAngelo Helton of the home; brothers, Wayne Clark of Hickory and Michael Helton of Shelby; a sister, Carla Helton of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; his father-in-law, Grady Watts; and his brother-in-law and wife, Keith Watts and Debbie. Don greatly loved all his family and was greatly loved by his family.

The funeral service will be held at Augustana Lutheran Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Revs. Bryce Wandrey and Willard Mueller officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday night at Hickory Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Danny Jo Helton, age 36, of Morganton, “Went Home” on Saturday, April 1st 2006 at his residence.
He was born to Joe and Penny Helton on September 24, 1969 in Hickory.
Danny was an accomplished Registered Nurse receiving numerous honors.
He was currently pursuing his Bachelors Degree in Nursing from U.N.C.G. Danny was employed in the Emergency Department of McDowell Hospital.
Danny was formally employed by Paramount Honda, and had been an instructor in the Automotive Department of C.V.C.C.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend.
Danny will be greatly missed.

Danny was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Ann Helton and a sister, Jo Deana Helton.

Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Stephanie Helton of the home;
two sons, Jacob Paul Helton and Benjamin Zackary Helton of the home;
his parents Joe and Penny Helton of Morganton;
a brother, Darrin A. Helton and his wife, Kelly of Marion;
grandmothers, Laura Spradling of Granite Falls, and Ollie Mae Helton of Hickory;
a niece Ashton Helton;
and a nephew, Ayden Helton, both of Marion.
Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, 6th 2006 in the chapel of Valdese Family Funeral Care, with Captain David Chapman of the Salvation Army officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
For those traveling to the committal service, we will be reassembling at 4:30 P.M. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lenoir for interment.

Christina Helton Buck and her children, Eric, Baylee and Emma, all of Midland, passed away Monday, May 10, 2004.

Christina was born March 19, 1976 in Decatur, Illinois and moved to Midland, Texas in 1990. She attended Lee High School.

Eric Paul was born August 14, 1993 to Jason Paul and Christina in Odessa, Texas. In 1998 Christina met Teague Buck, the love of her life, and Baylee Buck was born November 7, 1999 in Odessa, Texas.

Christina and her family then moved to North Carolina and Emma Buck was born November 13, 2002 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Christina and the children moved back to Midland in March to be with her family and were awaiting Teague's arrival in June.

Christina and her children enjoyed the time they spent with family and will now be reunited with Baylee and Emma's beloved "Meemaw", Barbara B. McCraw and Eric's Mi Mi, Nita Currie.

They are survived by husband and father, Teague Buck and step-son, Brackston Teague Buck of Midland, TX; father of Eric, Jason Paul; father, Kerry Helton of Decatur, IL; mother and step-father, Carol Helton and Donald Smith of Midland, TX; grandmother, Nancy Paul; sisters, Carrie Lynn Helton of Decatur, IL; Samantha Lynn Schull of Muldrow, OK; aunts, Julie and Coire Ann; great-aunt, Donna Burns; grandparents, Sonny and Sue Buck of Midland, TX; Coy McCraw of Hendersonville, NC; Edward Platto and R. C B Helton was born December 14, 1920 in Gilmer, Texas.
He passed away at the age of 85 on January 27, 2006 in Conroe, Texas.
C B resided in Walker County most of his life.
He owned a dirt contracting business for many years, as well as a mobile home park.
C B was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed traveling in their RV and spending time with their family.

C B is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ida Lee Helton. Other survivors include children: Annette Mechler and husband, David; Jeanette Harding and husband, Neal; Patricia Brandon and husband, Dan; and Ricky Helton and wife, Sherry. C B is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. the grandchildren are Jenny Thornell, Denise Mechler, Chris Harding, Candace Bruce, Karen Hall, Albert McDaniel, Adam McDaniel, Angie Vaughn, and Donna Severns.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M, Monday, January 30, 2006 at Center Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst, Texas.
