Looking for any information on a W. H. Hemmingway, there is a well known photographer but he's later than I want, this guy was in WW1 and I think the regiment he was in was British or Irish, I have a regt. picture and a war diary signed by him and I'd like to connect him, maybe find a picture or identify him in the picture I have.

Can only be of some help with your Kurisko surname. It originates in the USA from a closeknit immigrant Slovak family. My gr.grandmother, now deceased, lived until I was abt. 14 yrs old. The Kurisko family came from Czechoslovakia in the 1890s. Some, which were probably the first to come here, settled in Havastra, NJ and were also related. My gr.grandmother had Uncles here, and also brothers and sister, all born in Europe. It was a large family, but I am nearly certain that everyone with the Kurisko name is related. My grandmother lived tobe in her 90s and knew most of her mother's family. My grandmother died abt 3yrs ago and her mind clear as bell to the end. If you know the names of your mother's parents, I am sure they will turn out to be a part of this family.

looking for any information on the hemmingway/hemmingway/stevens/kurisko that you may have. my grandfathers name is clarence John joseph hemmingway died in 1972. also, Barbara Hemmingway maiden name was kurisko she passed on a little over ten years ago. my grandfather was orphaned in conneticut with hemingway as his last name, entered the service and his name was mistaken for hemmingway thus the diffeent spelling.Please if you have any information email me.
