Re your post Sep 2008. I am another link in the effort to find more about the Hendrens from Armagh. Samuel and Ann are my GR GR GR Grandparents. David Charles and Barbara's son David Jnr is my connection. I have the Death certificate for David Charles and it just says he had 3 boys and 4 girls, I have found doing research it is really hard if there are no names with which to search further. Any info would be appreciated.
Regards, Denise Bamford.

Re: WHERE DO I TURN NOW TO FIND THIS FAMILY?????

I am researching the family of Felix Hendron and Mary Ellen HAmmill. I can clarify a few points on the family.

Mary Ellen Hammill is not burried in the Calvary Cemetery in Florissant, Missouri. You can access the website. I've tried a few variations on the name and came up empty handed.

Felix Hendron had a daughter by the name of Mary Jane Hendron born 15 Jan 1856 in County Cork, Ireland. I have her death record as well as her brother's, William J. Hendron. Felix also has a daughter by the name of Martha Hendron who was born in 1866 and living with her eldest sister in Arkansas in 1880. Much of this family is burried in the Calvary Cemetery. Felix Hendron is buried there. He was buried 17 Jul 1827. Mary Jane Hendron married about 1873 to a man by the name of Edward J Kelly. Their descendants have further information on this family. My husband is one of them.

I hope this helps.

Rebecca Smith

Kristin,

I have from the NC Birth Index that the father of Charles Harris Hendren was Joe Harris and the mother was J Choor Hendren;

However the NC Death index says that the Father was J C Hendren and the Mother was Joe Harris.

Obviously, one was transcribed incorrectly or recorded incorrectly.

But the 1930 Census lists the father as Charlie J Hendren and the Mother as Joe (married name Hendren) and Father-in-law as D F Harris.. Living in Sharpes, Alexander Co, NC

The 1900 Census shows him living with parents William S Hendren and Alis m in Sugar Loaf, Alexander Co, NC and lists his name as Charlie J Hendren

Hope this helps you. .... james (jahendren@aol.com)

I'm having trouble researching my Hendren relatives as well, perhaps this may be the reason! My Great Great Grandmother was Anna L Hendren, born in Clinton, TN in 1888. I wouldn't have normally linked the two except that she ended up marrying Charles Ernest West who lived in North Wilkes, NC (born 1886). I don't know if perhaps Anna Hendren's family moved to NC or what. I'm also getting information that says Anna Hendren's Father may have been born in either Tennessee or North Carolina as well, but I don't have much information beyond Anna.

Anyway, if you know of anything let me know, and I'll let you know if I find anything.

Re: ELLEN (NELLIE ) HENDREN / HENDRON,

Hello, John,

I am sorry to have been so long to respond. I haven't been on Rootsweb for a while and I hadn't gotten an email alert.
Thanks for the info. I have actually gotten more info on Nellie (Ellen) Hendron. My thoughts are her name is Ellen, nickname, Nellie.

I have gone to St. Louis and met my cousin, Bill and his lovely family, who is a decendant of William Hendron, who was the brother of Nellie. We went to Calvary Cemetery and had some luck finding the Hendrons, but Felix's grave is unmarked. We did find the area though.

I have the marriage record of Ellen Hendron and Charles Brothers, married May 7, 1884, in St. Louis. I have also found that Charles worked for the railroad and finally found proof that they were in Little Rock, where their son, William Howard was born, for a while by finding him in the 1886 city directory. But the trail goes cold there.

Another big question remains of what happened to Mary Ellen Hamil Hendron?

I would appreciate any info you could share!

Thanks so much!
Janie
