Clarence Leonard Hendrickson, the son of Magnus and Christine (Bengtson) Hendrickson was born February 25, 1908 at Bradish Community rural Albion, NE. He was baptized at the Dahlsberg Swedish Church and then joined South Branch Immanuel Lutheran rural Albion. Clarence attended school at Boone County School District #8 and then District #57 for two years. He attended college at Midland Lutheran for a short time.

On July 20, 1935 Clarence was united in marriage to Alma Dora Thompson at the Shell Creek Lutheran Church in Newman Grove, Nebraska. They lived and farmed northeast of Albion until 1976 when they retired and moved to Albion. Following retirement he worked at Parkview Apartments in Albion. Clarence moved to the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion. It was there that he passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 97 years of age.

He was a member of the Immanuel-Zion Lutheran Church rural Albion. He was also a member of the Sons of Norway. Clarence’s served on Boone County School District #57 and #8 school boards, and the church board. He was also a janitor and usher at Immanuel-Zion Lutheran. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, wood working, and traveling. Clarence and Alma’s home was open to everyone, and he would lend a helping hand whenever needed. He was a very loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by daughter Carolyn Ranslem and husband Alvah of Albion; son Clark Hendrickson and wife Diane of Cascade, Idaho; 4 grandchildren: Alan Ranslem and wife Karen of Albion; Anita Mitchell of Blaine, MN; Curt Hendrickson and wife Sheri of Lakeside, CA; Nick Hendrickson and wife Tina of Burbank, CA; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 sister Irene Thompson of Anaheim, CA; 2 sisters-in-law; along with many other relatives and friends.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 3 brothers: Alvin, Tillman, Elgin; 1 sister Lillian Pettibone and a brother and sister Myrtle and Melroy in infancy.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Immanuel-Zion Lutheran Church rural Albion with Rev. Dan Monson officiating. Burial will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
