Does anyone have a Luther Hendrix married to Olive Billingsley? They had a son James Harrison Hendrix born 9 June 1859 in TN. He married Melvina Sutherlin 27 Dec 1892 in KS. I have all of their decendants and most of her ancestors. Luther is my brick wall. I found a Luther with a James the right age but the wife is wrong. My information came from Melvina.

Looking for infomation on Otis Hendrix, married to Nettie Ogles in late 1800`s lived in and around Athens, GA, Colbert,GA ,and Crawford, GA or Oglethorpe County. He was born on Aug.4 1886 and died on April 15, 1971.It is believed he had a brother to move to Oklahoma. He had about 13 or 14 children, Nora, Frank, Marie, Carlton, Jennie Mae, Clara,Paul, and Lillie Mae.

Looking for any information regarding Thomas F. Hendrix, reportedly born in Missouri in 1895. His wife Permelia, also reportedly born in missouri in 1880, was adopted. Both are buried in Englevale Cemetary in Crawford County Kansas. They had 7-8 daughters and one son, who just recently passed on. Their son's name is Frank Hendrix. Their daughter's names are Clara, Evelyn, Flossie, Faye, Ruth, Goldie, and Juanita. Juanita married Charles Edward Blake. Evelyn Hendrix married Raymond Rose. Goldie Hendrix married Leland Fisher.

I know Thomas worked for a church in Pitcher, Oklahoma. He and his wife passed on in the same month. Many of their children were born in Kansas. I find clues here and there but nothing solid.

The people who were alive to tell me this information are now gone.

Hello all,

I own the 1833 family bible of Eli Hendrix (1810-1869) and Mary Elizabeth Dinwiddie Hendrix (1815-1886). This was one of the bibles used by Ruth Ashmore Hendricks DeVerter (1899-1996) to collect data for her series of genealogy books. Eli and Mary were my GGG Grandparents and they purchased the bible for ten dollars in 1837.

I know of all the people referred to in the beginning of the bible with the exception of "Jonas L Belotte, born July 29,1799". I will look again through the DeVerter books to see if I can find him. He could be "Jonas Survis Lewis Belote", but I don't know how he connects to my family.

I may have found my link!! According to the BLM, All of the above gentlemen owned land in Alabama during the same time frame and area. My gtgrandfather was Thomas Mack Sylvester HENDRIX, he had a brother, Zalmey, and he named one of his sons King. I also seem to remember hearing the names Larkin and Laban, tho they may just be blurs in my memory bank!! Help, anybody? Oh! King Z. was in the Elbe(Lauderdale Co., I think) area.

He first md. Elizabeth Goodman in 1863 in Caldwell Co., Mo.
By 1880 they were in Greene Co., Mo.
After Elizabeth died, he md. Mary Davis (nee McGuire) in 1899.

I'm yet another South GA Hendrix!
My great-grandfather was Francis M. (ca 1853-1915) (also known as "Boss") married to Emma Welch.
Their children were Frank Henry (my grandfather) who moved to IL, Charles and Denver who moved to Detriot, and Dora who married to Comer H. Bird and remained in Portal, GA.
I can't seem to take this Hendrix line back beyond Francis Marion. Can anyone help?

Mrs. Naomi Katherine Hendrix 78 died Friday at Muscatine General Hospital following an extended illness.

Services will be at Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home. Burial will be in Letts Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 12, 1899, in Wapello, the daughter of Wallace and Katherine Wheatley Kline. She married Vernon Hendrix and lived in Muscatine for 45 years and was a former resident of Letts. She was a member of the First Christian church.

Survivors include four sons, Walter Hendrix of Moline, ILL., William Hendrix of Dallas, Tex., Donald Hendrix of Kansas City, Mo., and Larry Hendrix of Anglo, Ind.; three daughters Mrs. George (Twyla) McDonald of Muscatine, Mrs. Neva Winters of Sunnydale, Calif., and Mrs. Loletia Naber of Rockford, Ill.; 31 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; one brother Stewart Kline of West Liberty; four sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Leo) Schalk , Mrs. Emma Hixon both of West Liberty, Mrs. Gladys Fisher of Davenport and Mrs. Winifred Price of Roseman, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, three sisters and two brothers.

We were recently down in SC hunting ancesters. We found a couple of graves in this Cemetery with the name of Hendrix on them. Since we have Hendrix/Hendricks in our family tree, we wrote them down. We do not know who they are at this time, but thought I would pass the information on. Maybe someone knows this family.

Just inside the old back gate, across the RR tracks are three graves. One is a double headstone. It reads:
Joseph F. Hendrix, b. 11 Jan 1877, d. 20 Oct 1950.
Rosa Mae, b. 22 Mar 1880, d. 15 May 1962

Second Marker, beside the double one, reads: Daughter,
Flora B. Hendrix, b. 19 Dec 1900, d. 21 June 1927

I am interested in finding descendants of or information on Theophilus Hendrix of Bath County, Ky. My ancestor, Garrett Hendrix, was a the brother of Theophilus Hendrix. Icy Davis, wife of Lodwick Davis, was a sister of Theophilus Hendrix. When Garrett Hendrix died intestate in Putnam Co., Indiana, in 1844, the court named Theophilus Hendrix and Icy Davis, wife of Lodwick Davis, as his next of kin, and appointed the Davis's to oversee settling Garrett's estate. So this is proof that Garrett, Theophilus, and Icy were siblings. The documents also state that Theophilus and Icy were residents of Kentucky....

He was married to Mattie Jones who was shot in the head believed by her brother in the home in McNairy Co. Tn.. They had 4 know children James Hendrix, Charles Hendrix, a set of twins. One of the twins believed died early in life as a child of a fever.

The other two children Oliver Bornie Warn Hendrix. b. 1901 in Tupelo MS and Andrew Jackson Hendrix b. Alcorn Co MS. about 1903. AJ(Jack) and Oliver and Noah ended up in MO in about 1928 or 29 in Butler Co. Farmers by trade. Noah was a Welldigger in Tn.. Noah Died in Butler county in 1938.

He was still alive in the 1960s in West Tennessee, probably Dyer or Lauderdale County, and died in West Tenn, but may have lived in Haywood or another county at the time of his death. I was forwarded this scan by an Aunt. The back marking only says George Hendrix. However we had Georges in 2 consecutive generations.

I would love some assistance in dating this photograph. The earlier George (father) lived from 1859 until about 1903. His son George was born about 1901.

Assuming the boy in the picture is about 7, is it more likely that this photograph was taken in the mid 1860s, or around 1910?

This is from Central or Western Tennessee.

I am looking for the parents and sibling(s) of Peter Hendricks. Peter's parents came from Holland. Peter was born in 1862 in Wisconsin. Peter was living in Kaukauna, Outagamie, Wisconsin in 1880 with Anton and Nellie Vanhooft. Peter Hendricks Married Antonette (Nettie) Jansen (Janson) Nov. 24, 1884, in Little Chute, Wisconsin. They had 13 children. They later moved to Main Prairie (Kimball), Minnesota. He died in Minnesota, Sept. 25, 1921 and buried back in Little Chute, Wisconsin. I am searching for info on Noah Hendrix b. 3-2-1863 in Henderson, TN. and died 1-28-1939 Butler, Co. MO. He married Mattie Ora Jones in 1894 in Prentiss, Co. MS. She was the daughter of William Thomas Jones b.1841 TN. and Martha Cordell Wigginton b.1844 MS. Mattie Jones Hendrix died in 1910 in McNairy, Co. TN. Noah Hendrix married a second time to Fracis Lucus Vaughan in 1912 in Henderson, Co. TN. The children of Noah and Mattie Hendrix are Oliver Bornie Warn Hendrix b. 1901 MS. and Andrew Jackson Hendrix b. 1903 MS. The child of Noah and Fracis Hendrix is Leroy Hendrix b. 1914 Henderson, TN. I am anxious to find members of Hendrix family whose mother's maiden name is Louise Mitchell. Not sure of spouse name, but might be Wendell. Louise had several children and I need to get in touch with any of them. I am not related but I have urgent news. Childrens names include James, Charles, Nathaniel, Jerry, Tabitha, Donna Sue, Mary, Wendell Any lead would be appreciated!
As far as I know, all the above are still living.

My maiden name is Hendrix, as you can see the surname spelling has been so interchangable then and now, makes for a lot of problems. I cannot go back any further than Joseph and Sarah A (UNK), (2nd great grandparents) at a wall !!!! In census lists Joseph's fathers birthplace as TN and his mothers as NC. Do not have any knowledge about their children except John R who was my great grandfather, and I just recently found this out as my grandfather never mentioned his father and my aunt and uncle did not know either. Any help would be appreciated.

From the 1900 US Census-Boggess (Greenville) Muhlenberg Co., KY. JOHN R Hendricks-35- b abt 1864 KY, FANNIE J (Corley) wife-26- b abt 1873 KY, children listed; Zano S.-(M)-8, Flossie J E -(F)-6, Ora S.-(M)-2..all children born in KY.
John R and Fannie J Hendrix had 3 more children after census was taken, Orby W (M) 1903, IRVIN Daniel (M) 1905 and Burvy P (M) 1909. (1910 Census list the 3 additional children and also has Fannie listed as a widow)
Irvin Daniel Hendrix married Mary Catherine (Calvert) (my grandparents) and resided in Muhlenberg Co., KY with the exception of residing in Cooper Co., MO sometime after 1928..listed in 1930 Census Lamine, Cooper Co., MO; Irvin Hendrie-26- bp KY, Katherine C-wife-26- bp KY, Irvine JR-son-1yr 6 mo- bp KY

Zoey was born 18 Oct 1808 per Dean Bible
Zoey may be the daughter of Frederick Deen/Dean
Zoey may be the sister of Peter Dean
