Believed to have come to England from Barbados after abolition of slavery as an apprentice in early 1800.s
Have come to a complete brick wall so anyone with any information on black slaves from carribbean to england would be a great help

James Henry was a labourer and he died pre 1908 he married Catherine O’Donnell who died between 1908 & 1926
They had the following children at Fetherneen a townland within the parish of Kilvarnet in Sligo
Bridget bn May 1862 – who married Edward O’Hara also of Kilvarnet in 1882 but when Edward Died she moved to Glasgow with her children and John Pettipiece who was also from Kilvarnet, they married in 1908 in Glasgow
Michael bn Dec 1864
Maria bn Dec 1867
Catherine bn Dec 1871
Patrick bn Dec 1874

HENERY/HENRY Alnwick, Northumberland, UK

My great grandfather George HENERY was born in Alnwick in 1883, the illegitimate son on Jane Ogle HENERY. Other than on his birth certificate his name is recorded as HENRY.

He was a game keeper and violin maker.

He married Isabella DIERY in Alnwick in 1906 and had children named Margaret (my grandmother), Jack, Gordon, Stanley, Arthur and Ellena (the dates and correct spellings are not known).

Looking for my Great, Great Grandfather & Grandmother: James & Sarah A Henry

Hello, I'm working on finding my father's side of the family and have traced it back to 1860 onwards to Iowa in different cities and counties within IA. They had two children born somewhere in PA in 1854 (James W. Henry) & Mary E. Henry B. 1856 in PA as well. Their third child (my great grandfather) John K. Henry was born 8 Jan 1859 in IA, So were the rest of the children that they had.

I don't know my great great grandmother's maiden name, but I suspect that she was born in PA of Irish background. It shows for the IA US Federa; Census Records that both James & Sarah A. Henry are either born in Ireland or PA, and that is as far as I've been able to track them.

Looking for Info on my O’Hara & Henery Relatives from Sligo

Edward O’Hara was a Herder/Farm Labourer, he married Bridget or Beesey Henery bn c 1864 daughter of James Henery and Kate O’Donnelly.

They had the following children:-

Edward bn 26/11/1883 in Ranaghan, Sligo
Michael bn 20/05/1886 also Ranaghan
Mary bn 20/06/1889 Ranaghan
John bn 15/06/1891 Ranaghan
Jane {Jean} bn 26/12/1893 in Arderee, Sligo {My G Grandmother}
Bridget Kate bn 26/06/1898 in Cloonacurra, Sligo

My grandfather tells me that Mary and Jean my G Grandmother came to Gorbals, Glasgow looking for work he says his mother worked in a big house in Ireland prior to this but I Believe they may have moved with their mother Bridget in the early 1900’s after their father died as I have found a marriage certificate for her in 1908 when she married a John Pettipiece in Glasgow. Their Mother Bridget died in 1926 in Glasgow.

Jean married George Oliphant in Glasgow in 1920 and she died in 1952 in Springburn.

Mary Married a man who worked as a road roller in Glasgow.

It is believed that one of the other sons moved to Glasgow and married and a daughter moved to Canada to work in a newspaper office

Can anyone help me with obtaining further information on my family or are you connected somehow?

I am looking for information regard the Henery family from Sligo Ireland.
My Grandfather was Gilbert Stanley Henry
His Father was James Henery who married Hannah McGoveron.
James Henery Father was also James Henery who I believe was born in Sligi Ireland and his wife was Jane Brown
I have been unable to get any further with my search.
My Great Grandfather James Henery also had a sister named Catherine Henery and she married Patrick Madden.
I would appreciate any advise or assistance from anyone who can help in my search.

I am looking for infomation on this ancestor, born abt. 1720 around Drumbess, Caven, Ireland, spouse unknown.Children Thomas b abt. 1752 d. abt. 1818. Thomas had two children, John and Mary. John married Nancy Biggers, moved to Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. They had 4 children. While in Ontario John changed the family name to Henry.

Gi'day All,
I am looking for further info in regard to James Henery who was married to Jane Brown in Ireland.
This would be my Great Great Great grandfather and Grandmother.
Their children that I know of were James Henery and Catherine Henery who both came to Australia on the ship Lady Macdonald.
James married Hannah McGoveron and Catherine married Patrick Madden.

Sarah FLANAGAN (nee GILLORN, dau. of John GILLORN & Catherine HENERY) married Owen COMMONS 19 Jan 1865 in Onehunga, New Zealand. Sarah arrived in Auckland, New Zealand on 3 October 1864 on the 'Surat'.

At present, I have no information as to the Mr FLANAGAN Sarah GILLORN was married to before 1865.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone with any information on family connections to any of the above.

My grandfather was Glenn Melvin Henery. He was the son of Marcus Henery and grandson to James Henery of Ireland. I have some information on Marcus and James but not nearly enough. James immigrated to the United States in 1854. He married Mary Fulton of Scotland and they had five children, Templeton, George, Fulton, Nannie and William. George was the father of Marcus and Marcus the father of Glenn

My ancestor Thomas Henerie was born Tyrone, Ireland in 1840. He travelled to Australia in about 1841 or thereabouts with his parents, John and Jane (nee Hazelton) They had other children in Australia.
