I am descended from John Legate Henley, son of James Henley and Dorcas Legate, who was born in Washington County, Tennessee, on 1 Setpember, 1797, and died in Cole County, Missouri, on 18 August, 1878.

He married 1) Elizabeth Hoskins, daughter of Thomas Hoskins and Frances --. Their children were:
