On Oct 8 2000 at the Hennig-Neidig Cemetery in Woodward Centre Co. there will be a special ceremony given by the D.A.R.-all are welcome. Mr. Randall Stover has recently restored this cemeterey-the burial place of Christophel Hennig, Adam and his three wives along with a number of his children.
Mr. Stover, a Hennig Descendant found the cemetery in real bad shape. the farmers were turning their tractors around over it! The weeds and trees were overgrown and there were geoundhog holes everywhere. Gravestones were missing and broken. Someone had removed the stones, then returned them in a pile because no one new where they went, later someone else took the stones and used them for fill under the milkhouse concrete floor.
No one knew how many were burried there or where their plots were.
Mr. Stover a dowser used his special skill to mark the grave plots He can even tell if its a Hennig or Neidig burried beneath! Mr. Stover has put up a new fence, a new sign, and a message box. He has now arranged with Mr, Houser one of the land owners for a deeded acess road to the cemetery.I am arranging for a bronze plaque to be made, this plaque will be afixed to a stone and placed at he cemetery to thank Mr. Stover for his efforts. This plaque will be from all Hennig descendants. Terry Irwin
