I think I've googled enough to discover enough about our genealogy. Heard rumors of Pennsylvania Dutch. I think shes descended from John Hennigh but not sure. I've seen pictures of her and she and the children are beautiful./

Hello, Leslie, I was really excited when I ran across your message about Belle R. Hennigh Riggle...she was my great- Aunt Belle! m. to Daniel W. Riggle, the brother to my grandfather, Samuel S. Riggle.I have tried to get info about the Talbott/Riggle families for several years, odd that I just recently found out what Aunt Belle's maiden name was from the Civil War pension records of Daniel, always thought it may be Carson since Nellie's middle name was Carson... I have met them both at my Grandfather's home in Henry Co., In., both were beautiful women!...I have photos of Belle's parents,(Minister of Presb.Church) Rev. Henry K. Hennigh and Rebecca J. Hennigh, he was b. in 1818 and she was b. in 1822. Belle and Daniel were m. Aug. 24, 1870 by her father in Linn Co. Iowa, she was b. June 30, 1850 in Ohio...the Hennigh's lived in Henry Co.,In. before Iowa...both Belle and Daniel d.in Iowa, buried in Bonaparte cemetery...Daniel d July 28, 1920, she d. Jan. 25, 1939. Also photos of your Nellie, her sister, Katie B. White, brother, Luther(Louie) Hennigh Riggle, and Mary L. Riggle that d. about 3 years old..just read a letter , written to my mother in 1904 from Aunt Belle...Iam going on 87, so this is a wonderful thing to have found you...The Riggle family came to Henry Co. in 1852 by covered wagon, were from Franklin Co. Pa., St. Thomas twp...I still have cherry furniture that came with them and the old German Bible that Daniel's family sent to my grandfather after he passed away.... Daniel b. in Pa., but my grandfather b. in Henry Co. in 1859......hope you will correspond with me...Cousins?!!

looking for parents of Lena M Hennigh. She was my
great grandmother. She was married to Charles Burrell
Cooper. All of their children were born in Missouri.
Names are Gladys, Chester, Leo and Mona.I know she
died 19 Mar 1950 and my grandmother was born in 1899.
So she must have been born abt 1800. I have found a Lena
in the 1880 census, but have not been able to find any
other info on her.
Hennigh Family

My uncle has considerable information on his grandfather's branch of the family. Elias, my great-grandfather had 15 brothers and sisters. The great-great-grandfater was David and he had 10 brothers and sisters. All I have is there names at birth. I have no marriage names for the females. Elias died on the way home from Kansas after visiting relatives. The three oldest uncles and aunts(Elias's children) were born in Kansas. They orginated from Centre county in Pennsylvania. If you'll contact me, I'll be glad to share what I have.

Hennigh Family

Hi, my father is a Hennigh his name is David and we all live in and around Seymour, Missouri. I recently did a family tree starting with my grandparents Edward Earl and Helen Louise (Wilkins) Hennigh and there are around 115 of us (counting inlaws and outlaws). There were 10 children originally: Russell, Peggy, Walton Grant "Dub", Lyle, David(my dad), Dale, Sherron, Connie, James, Rodney. My grandpa died in 1976 and I have lost several uncles and 1 aunt over the years, my grandmother is still living. My grandparents were married in Modesto, California. I have family in Kansas also and family around Independence, MO. We have a paper on the Hennigh's and it says that 13 brothers came over from Berlin, Germany. Fredrick Hennigh was an officer and surgeon serving on General George Washington's staff. Apparently there are also Hennigh's in Canada. It also mentions a Margret Peace Hennigh ( She had a son named Samuel )and she is buried in the Lewisberg, Kansas Cemetary. My great-grandparents name's were Walton and Ethel (Terrill) Hennigh. The pronunciation is (Hay-Knee) and the original name before they came to america was "Von Hennigh Housen".

I haven't traced the Hennigh's back very far I just recently found out a few of my ancestors names so far I have James Kinsel Hennigh (my ggg-grandfater) his wife's name was Anna. Then my gg-grandfather was Walton Gillard Hennigh, his wife's name was Ethel Terrill. My grandfather's name was Edward Earl Hennigh and his wife's name is Helen (Wilkins) Hennigh. My gg-grandparents and my grandfahter are buried in the Fordland Cemetary in Fordland, MO. We know that James (at least I think he did) came from Kansas and little else about them. But my dad's name is David Earl Hennigh. David must be a common family name.

Jennifer,
While I was checking the Hennigh message board--noted your interest in information on family of Christophel Hennigh. I have a booklet compiled by Jewel Hennigh Hink(now deceased) of Kansas, who did quite a bit of research on that family line. Do you have that information? We tried hard to connect our two Hennigh families, but never could make a positive one, even though both came out of Centre Co, Pa.
Our family moved to Jefferson Co., Pa. and then later on west
to Kansas and Oklahoma.

My great grandmother, Margery Jane "Jennie" Cox Mongan had a sister Nora who was married to a Hennigh. I believe he was a doctor, but I'm not certain of that and I don't know his first name. They lived in Perkasie at the time of my great grandmother's death which was in 1933. I am curious about her sister's family as I know nothing of them other than a picture I have.
