Nora Bell Hennigh

Hi, My grandmother's Grandmother was Nora Bell Hennigh, who Married Charles E Wood (His son Lawrence Wood married Ida Winzer) in Atchison KS. I think I've googled enough to discover enough about our genealogy. Heard rumors of Pennsylvania Dutch. I think shes descended from John Hennigh but not sure. I've seen pictures of her and she and the children are beautiful./

My uncle has considerable information on his grandfather's branch of the family. Elias, my great-grandfather had 15 brothers and sisters. The great-great-grandfater was David and he had 10 brothers and sisters. All I have is there names at birth. I have no marriage names for the females. Elias died on the way home from Kansas after visiting relatives. The three oldest uncles and aunts(Elias's children) were born in Kansas. They orginated from Centre county in Pennsylvania. If you'll contact me, I'll be glad to share what I have.

I am trying to find the death date of Hal C. Hennigh husband of Mary Lou Watson. Also would like to find her death date also. He was born Jan. 13, 1909 Kansas, and Mary Lou was born 1908 Missouri.

LAST RITES CONDUCTED IN TOWNSEND FOR CHARES HENNIGH

Townsend, July 3.---Unity services for Charles Hennigh, who passed away in Great Falls [Cascade County] early Sunday morning, June 27 in the Deaconess hospital, were conducted in Townsend [Broadwater County] at the Connors chapel Thursday by Mrs. Mary E. Nessel of the Bozeman Unity Truth Center. Burial was in Pony [Madison County]. Pallbearers were Charles Nunley, Hadley Rice, Hugh Roberts, Jacob Harthule and Walter Ragen of Townsend, and M.L. Smith of Livingston.

Mr. Hennigh was born Aug. 8, 1888, in Louisburg, Kan. He came to Montana in 1915, living in Great Falls until 1921, when he moved to Livingston [Park County], where he owned and operated the Sanitary Barber and Beauty shop until 1944, at which time he moved to Townsend, where he purchased and operated a bar until June 11 last, when he was forced to sell due to ill health.

Me was married to Miss Marian Myers of Pony, Aug. 18, 1930, in Dillon [Beaverhead County].

He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Marian Hennigh of Townsend; a daughter, Mrs. Russell Atterbury of Mount Ranier, Md.; a son, George N. Hennigh of Long Beach, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Shores of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. John Dragoo of Pittsburg, Kan., Mrs. C.A. McMillin of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Lena Cooper of Seattle; two aunts, Mrs. Zillah Marley and Mrs. Maggie Hennigh and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives arriving to attend the services were Mrs. Fred Shores, Mr. and Mrs. John Dragoo and George Hennigh.

Mr. Hennigh was a member of the Moose lodge of Livingston.

I saw there were no messages in the Hennigh forum so I though I'd leave one. My mom comes from the Hennigh side of the family and we don't know much about our background. Maybe two or three generations back. My Grandpa, William Hennigh, says he doesn't even know how to pronounce it because he says ever since he was little he's always heard it different ways and nobody ever told him the correct way.
Anyhow, I hope more posts come up, I'd like to see if there might be some connection with other Hennigh's.

I am searching for info on the parents of Charles Burrell Cooper and Lena M Hennigh. Charles died on 23 Dec 1929 and Lena
died 19 Mar 1950. Known children are Gladys Maybelle,
Leo Walter, Mona Hennigh, Chester Lutherian and Charles
Burrell jr. Children were born in Missouri. I have some
relatives buried in cemetery in Miami County, Kansas. So it
is possible some of these are buried there also.

Belle Hennigh

Family history shows a Belle Kennigh, but I think Hennigh might be more correct. Belle married Dan Riggle sometime about 1870 in Iowa (Mt Vernon area). Does this correlate with anyone's family? They had a daughter named Nellie C. Riggle
