My maternal grandfather's name was John (Johan)Henningsen, married to Rose Port(h) they had approximately10-11 children (8-girls), my aunt Edna was the oldest girl and my mother Dorothy ( surname O"Neill)was the youngest child. One son of John and Rose died in early childhood (buddy) and another son is named Raymond. My aunts names (that I remember) are Edna ( surname Grosskoph -the oldest), Adele
Mickey), Elizabeth(Betty) and Rosie (surname Heller) and a Tilly. One of my aunts named a son Douglas Arthur MacArthur after the general.
My grandparents hailed of german/ swedish backgrounds and lived in N.Y.C.- both died there in 1960's. Edna and Dorothy also died in NYC in the 1990's.
My grandfather John came to U.S. with his brother and mother by ship ( a sister had to be left behind for medical reasons of some sort). He had a brother named Willie (Wilhelm) who was married to Millie. Rose had a sister she called Tessie (Ethel). I would love to get in touch with of my mothers surviving sisters or cousins ou there.
