As you can see, my name is Hennington. My father's name was William Bean Hennington
b 08/22/1918 and d 06/09/95 in Downsville, Union Parish, LA, married Frances Louise Strange b 06/05/1920 and d 12/27/74 in Monroe, Ouachit Parish, LA. William Bean was the son of Eugene Hennington, date of birth unknown, married to Freddie Birdie Crawley, dob unknown. date of marriage unknown. Search just beginning. William Bean had a brother, Ernest dob unknown.
William and Frances had 6 children:
Lois Annette Hennington dob 11/13/38
Eva Doris Hennington dob 11/12/40
Georgia Belle Hennington 12/31/42
William Eugene Hennington dob 10/7/44 deceased 10/16/98
John Thomas Hennington dob 10/20/46
Evelyn Lanell Hennington dob 11/27/47

My father was born in Jones (Morehouse Parish, LA. He was a farmer who married Frances Louise, and they together reared their family in Wilmot, Ashley County, Arkansas. I don't have a lot of information, but his grandmother's name on his father's side was Mary Christmas from Portland or Monticello, Arkansas. I'll pass more information along as I locate it.

My grandfather, Eugene, died when my father was approx 8-10 years old, leaving my dad and a younger brother. There was a younger sister, Delma who died at a very young age. My grandmother, Freddie Birdie whose ancestors had moved from Roan and Loudon County, TN, remarried Thomas Charles Evans, either in Ashley County,Arkansas or Morehouse Parish, Louisiana,(T. C. Evans' family was originally from near Hannibal, MO. A son, Stevie Clyde, was born of that marriage.

I've spent more time researching my dad's mother's side of the family. It's really good to have some additional information from others. I was very surprised. Since my dad's father died when he was so young, we don't know a lot of information about them at all. Somewhere in my memory, I believe I do remember Dad saying something about family moving from Alabama but don't know when that was.

There were other relatives in Ashley County, AR until the mid-1950's. There was a Nathanial, called Nat, married to Ruby, and they had a daughter, Maurice, and a son, Eugene, who were probably born sometime between 1939 and 1944. As far as I can rememember they spelled their surname: Henington.....There was also a brother to Nathanial named Aubrey. Both Nathanial and Aubrey are deceased but were born between 1910 and 1925. Aubrey had 7-8 children and they had lived in Ashley County, AR until the mid-1950's. Nathanial and his family lived in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana until mid to late 1950's but were living in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana in 1962. Nathanial's daughter, Maurice, lived in Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, in 1995 but do not remember her married name. That could easily be discovered.

I realize this is sketchy information but the more I write, the more I remember. Funny isn't it?

I'd like to gather additional information. Maybe someone out there has information about my grandfather, Eugene.
