Hi, I'm looking for anyone who may have this German Henrici family in their research?
Is the family connected at all or is it just a common name in Europe?
My Uncle has had his y-dna tested and I'd be delighted to contact anyone with the name Henrici who may have also had their y-dna tested. (Uncle was adopted as a baby)
Kind Regards,
Susan

Could this be a variation of my Sarah HENRITSY's spelling?
Looking for any info on HENRITSY, HENRITZI (spelling variations) in Lehigh or Northampton Co tha would tie-in with my Sarah "HENRITSY".

She was born abt 1791, parents unknown, altho believed to be in Northampton Co, Allentown area. She married John GEORG(e) before 8/1815. They had Ruben 1815, Lucy 1818, Jonathon 1823, Henry 1825, CHarles, 1827, Thomas 1829, David 1830, all in Lehigh/Northampton Co, Allentown area.

The family moved to Mercer Co abt 1834, where Sara died 1/17/1843.

The History of Lehigh Co has HENRITZYs, but the first ones would seem to be her contemporaries, not ancestors. Hillfrich Pastoral records do not seem to have her.

"Looking for info. re. Philip Carl Henrici. Married Sarah Mary Kellett 19 Nov 1872 Benwell, Northumberland, England. Had 3 sons John K R., Raymond C. and Thomas Alfred. who at 1891 Census for Dumfries Scotland were aged 7, 16 and 17 resp. Philip Carl was 42 at that time. I can find no record of Philip Carl Henrici in England prior to the wedding date. Found a ref to a Raymond C Henrici in Burial records in America but don't know if it is our connection."

Just found your message.

Philip Carl is my great great Grandfather, and I am just starting to investigate. As far as I can see he was born in Nassau? in Germany, the ceensus is hard to read. I also think he is the the son of Carl Peter Henrici who also is in the records.

I am looking for more information at the moment.

Ian

I also have the original copy of Dora Jessie Gertrude Henrici bifth certificate the original marriage certificate to my grandfather Charles Thomas Goodrick.

How are you conected? The John Kellet Henrici, Raymond Carl or Thomas A?

You say that you are local to Kilmacolm, Thomas died in Helensborough, also my dad had some cousins who lived at Ibrox, are you connected there?

Ian

Susan

The information I have is yes.

I have requested the death certificate for Carl Peter.

He Died Stockton County Durham aged 61 March quarter of 1881 which would give a birth year of circa 1819. I have a Family group record from family search.org that links Carl Peter to Philip Carl his son.

I also have a copy of the 1881 Census from Scotland that gives the birth place of Philip Carl as (N)assau in Germany. Now making a jump of logic I would say that the record you have for Carl Peter is for the same Carl Peter as I have records of.

looking at German history Nassau was caught up in the Austro Prussian war of 1866

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesse-Nassau

It is not a great jump to guess perhaps that a Henrici family group left Germany at this time and moved to NE England, the records show a number of people with that name in the area. Also I have skimmed some German family records and there seem to be a large number of Henrici's in the Nassau area.

How are you connected?

I am interested as Henrici is a rare name in the UK.

Look forward to hearing from you

Ian
Susan

That is a very kind offer.

I only have a few bits but what you have said confirms a few thoughts I had been forming.

To me it looks as though the Philp Carl, is the unnamed son of Carl Peter that you refer to. I had also seen the Isabella Gibson marrage record and assumed that it fitted in somehow. She would have been syep mother to Philip carl Jacob etc

I am getting a better idea of the line forward from Philip Carl to the present day.

Carl Peter is my G G Grandfather, and Philip Carl my G Grandfather.

If you prefer you can contact me at ian@ian-goodrick.co.uk

Susan, Yes it is Janet in Arran. It is actually my husband who is the 'bona fide' Henrici through blood but I tried to do some investigating into the source of the name around four years ago as you can see from my original note on this website it's taken until now for all this latest information to appear. I got so far and then seemed to come to a halt. At least we can now say for sure where the name came from when we are asked. I think we are the only family in Scotland bearing the Henrici surname.
All very interesting.

Hello, Susan. I like Ian Goodrick have a connection to Peter Carl Henrici through his son, Philip Carl Henrici. How are you connected to Carl Peter? We know of another 'Henrici' seeking information to the Henrici clan. Her great grandfather is known to have been a Jacob Henrici who came from Germany. His family has been established as Arthur (grandfather of the enquirer), Edward, Gertie, Emily. Arthur is known to have lived in Northallerton and he had family named, Maurice, May, Margaret, Arthur, Joan and Dorothy.

E-mail add: f_henrici@hotmail.com. My husband is Thomas Drummond Henrici. His father was Thomas Geddes Henrici the son of Thomas Alfred H., one of 3 sons of Philip Carl H. The others were John Kellet H. and Raymond Carl H. Philip Carl's wife was Sarah Mary Kellett. My husband was aware of a Goodrick family in Kilmacolm but didn't know the relationship until now. We live in Hillington. We have the marriage Cert of Thomas Alfred to Ann Geddes in Ibrox dated 27101899 which shows his father as being Philip Carl Henrici (Insurance Agent). One of the witnesses is Raymond C. Henrici. So, I guess you and my husband are second cousins. Who was your great grandfather, John K or Raymond C? Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your reply, Ian. We had pretty well given up hope of tracing any of Philip Carl Henrici's history. On seeing you surname it may be of interest to you that we have found amongst our papers two receipts dated Dec 1941 and April 1942 in respect of upkeep of burial lairs in our local cemetery in favour of a Mrs Dora Goodrick who lived in Kilmacolm (near Glasgow) in Dec 1941 and April 1942. I presume this lady is/was a relative of yourself and my husband. Do you know if her maiden name 'Henrici'? We'll certainly be interested to hear how you get on with your investigations. Good luck!
