I am just reading your post now and I am excited to see that I am connected to you and your family! My ancestors are the Poglianich family of Philadelphia. Eleanor Poglianich was the daughter of my Great great grandparents, Nicholas and Louisa. In fact, your mother, Helen, lived with my grandmother Madeleine Poglianich in 1920 on 3223 Frankford Ave. in Philadelphia. I'd love to chat more with you about this. Dale Dean Henricksen, the son of Jerome (Rummy) and Amelia (Nelsen) Henricksen was born May 21, 1951, in Estherville, Iowa and departed this life suddenly on Thursday, April 28, 2005, at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 53 years old.

He received his education in the Ringsted schools graduating from Ringsted High School.

On July 29, 2000, Dale was united in marriage to Debra Whitacre in Estherville. Dale has lived in the Ringsted and Armstrong area all of his life. He was employed with GKN Wheels for 35 years. Dale was a member of the First Christian Church in Estherville and the Iowa National Guard from 1969 to 1976. For hobbies, he enjoyed woodworking, camping and volleyball.

Left to cherish Dale's memory is his wife, Debra of Armstrong; his children, Gordon Henricksen of Herman, Nebraska; Nikki Henricksen and her fiancé, Matthew Johnson of Fairmont, Minnesota; Lonnie Henricksen and his fiancé, Karmen O'Rourke of Curlew; step-children, Melisia and Troy Langford of Swea City; Amanda and Jesse Mitchell of Truman, Minnesota; Stevan and Heidi Luhmann of Fairmont, Minnesota and Alicia and Wes Whitehead of Sherburn, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren; his father, Jerome (Rummy) Henricksen and his wife, Norma of Ringsted; brothers, Jerry Henricksen and his wife, Mary of Armstrong; Kenneth Henricksen and his wife, Rosalyn of Owatonna, Minnesota; mother and father-in-law, Melvin and Beverly Whitacre of Estherville; brother and sister-in-laws, Terry and Diane Whitacre and Lenny Whitacre all of Algona; Monty Whitacre and his fiancé Audrey Grover of Estherville; Jackie and Mark Harris of Graettinger; Wanette Sorenson and her fiancé, Lance Zimmerman of Estherville. Hello Kimberley. Does Peter have an age? I have a Peter Wilhelm Hendriksen (Henriksen,Henricksen)b. 1865 in a small town outside Copenhagen called Koge. He was my G-Grandfathers brother. Did your Peter ever live in Mich?

Thanks so much Flemming.Now are there any Henriksens, or Hendriksens, or Hendricksens out there. My Great-Grandfather, Andreas Henriksen came to Ishpeming Mich. in 1891. He had some brothers already here and his family followed in 1892. Andreas worked in a sawmill. In 1900 he and his family are in Milwaukee Wisc. later in Illinois. The family came from Koge,Denmark.Hoping to hear from any of Great-Granddad's brothers families.

Freddie,s name was Fredrica Henricksen and her father was born in Norway. She died June 1938 in Savannah, Ga. Her mother was my greatgrandmother, Marie Valerie Durbec Henricksen Aveilhe. Marie Valerie was born in Aiken, S.C. and marries Arthur A. Aveilhe around 1879. So her marriage to Mr. Henricksen was prior to that. They were possibly married in Aiken, S.C. or Savannah, Ga. Can any one help me locate this Mr. Henricksen. Thanks, Mary

Born in 1899 in Illinois (WHERE - ?)
Died: Nov. 4, 1958
Buried: Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Cook Co., IL.
He married Lucille (nee) HOWE.

At the time of the 1920 ILL Census, WIlliam (age 20) was living with his parents(Andrew and Agnes), and 2 sisters, Barbara(age 23), and Helen(age 9), at same place, on GRACE ST., as in the 1930 Census.

At the time of the 1930 ILL Census, William A.(age 30), his wife, and children (Elsie, David, and Donald) lived on BYRON ST., in Chicago. (Another daughter was born, in 1937 - Agnes.)

The Henriksen-parents lived on GRACE ST., in Chicago at the time of the 1930 ILL Census, WILLIAM lived with his grandmother, Agnes, and grandfather, Andrew, and sister, Helen(age 20). Listed as WILLIAM, and was 17 in 1930.
THIS Helen and THIS William were listed as grandchildren of Andrew and Agnes. (This William was either the son of the Barbara, or Helen, listed in the 1920 Census - above).

The parents (Andrew and Agnes) were born in Denmark, listed in both Census reports (1920 & 1930).

Seemingly, there is some connection, here.

I'm looking to pass on photo/info.
Peter Henricksen was my g.g. grandmother's (Anna De Gloria Fino, portugese descent) 2nd husband. He was step-father to my great grandfather Gustavus Adolfus Peterson and his brother Eddy. They lived in San Francisco, CA. Anna Died as a result of a cable car accident abt. 1925. I have photo's of what I believe are Peter's parents/family in Copenhagen, Denmark. There is also a photo labled "Rita Henricksen". I know that Peter was a Lightboat Captain on the "Blunts". I also have a number of pictures of him and his shipmates. These photo's do not have particular meaning to my family and I am hoping to pass them on to other's of his family if they exhist.

Well, can't say we didn't try, had you shown them to your grandparents? One day I hope to show them to someone that have the same pictures tucked away in a box in the attic with names on them that reveal who they all are. One can only hope. Thank you for trying though

It would be quite alright for you to send the pictures. It is possible they could be related through my grandfather's parents or possibly my grandfathers grandparents. Will look forward to seeing the pictures. In the meantime I will be getting a book, in Norwegian, from Norway that will tell me all about where my grandfather grew up in. Some of it will be explained in English. It will have the farm name, ancesters, etc. Am looking forward to it.

It is quite possible we are related in that there is both a Henrick and a Lars in my Henriksen's family. My Henrik however was born in 1927, and I was in error of the Henriksen for this particular family member, a person in Norway, Ringsaker, sent me information that suprised me, he was Henrik Jannsen born in Sweden and moved to Norway, his wife was Berthe Christophersdatter, the children in the files he found were Knud, Severine and Agnete, As to Henrik Henriksen/ Hendrickson, I do not think, because of the birth year, that they are the same people, however he could be the son of my Henrik or a uncle of him. I have a picture of "Dad's brother Lars" from my Great Grandma Agnete's album that I can send you if you want as well as a second picture that could be Henrick himself if you would like, maybe you will have pictures that match the ones I have that have the names on them, I have about 26 pictures that have no names on them from her album. I can send them all to you to see if any of them look familiar to you.

I am sorry to say that your Henricksen is not the same as mine. My grandfather's name was Henrik Johan Theodorsen Tuen Henricksen. He was born in 1879 in Stavanger, Norway. He had a brother by the name of Eric Holmane. Eric took the farm name instead of the family name of Henriksen. Lots of luck to you.

I've been attempting to trace back my family history, its not very complete as of yet but I believe my great great grandpa was Henrik Henriksen born in 1855 and he had a brother, Lars Johan Henriksen born in 1853. If this matches any of your info let me know.

Henriksen/son from Norway to MN and the Dakota Territories

I am looking for the hendricksen/son's with these family members. Martin, Knud, Syverine,Agnete,Oline, Johannes (John), Julius, andrew, Helene(a) Peter, Henrik and Berta. All from Norway, had a farm in Minnesota. Some of the Brothers kept the name of their Farm in Norway. Agnete is my Great Grand Mother on my Father's maternal side and Henrik and Berta were her parents. Anyone out there related to us? I have pictures from my Great Grandmother Agnete's Albumn, and a picture that hung in her home in Winfred South Dakota, Lake County. Any help would be appreciated. Am taking the pictures on a computer disk on a cros country trip and would love to share them. I can send them on line to proven relatives. thanx. Nora

Yes, I have a picture of him and also his home in Norway. My mother was one of his children. His wife's name was Eleanor Poglianich. Childrens names are Sybil, Theodore, Helen (Helen) my mother and Aloyisus. He died a young man of 34. He drowned in the Delaware River.

My grandfather Henrik Henriksen came from Ogna, Norway. He was born in 1879. Farm name was Vatneholmane. He immigrated to the USA in 1898, May 4 or 5.

as far as I am aware they came from norway, from the stenbakken farm in Rinsaker , Hedmarken county. but am unable to trace them far enough back I know of at least one brother, Lars, I do not know of more yet? match what you have? what was his wife's name?

Ole Henricksen, possibly changed to Hendricks

Ole Henricksen was born in Norway around 1850, was a passenger on the Bark Anna Delius out of Oslo Norway. His detination was Minnesota.
He would be my Great-Grandfather. His wife was Elizabeth Halvorsen, I think. We eventually settled in the Minnesota and had 12 children.

Looking for any information on my Grandfather Henry(Henrik) Henriksen b.1885 in Koge,Denmark.He immigrated with his familyto Canada late 1800's,then to the U.S. into Mich. His Father was Andrew(Andreas?) Henriksen.I believe Andrew was a Carpenter.Andrew brought his family here along with some of his brothers and their families. Henry's Mother was Agnes Dressler.Henry had 3sisters (Alpha,Rigmor, and Valborg) and 3 brothers(Donald, Percy, and Axel) the 3 youngest children were born in the U.S. Henry moved with his family to Chicago early 1900's. His parents and brother Percy followed.As far as I know there are still Henriksens in Michigan(UP). I'd be happy to hear from any of them and share information.
