Yah....you betcha, I can talk lutefisk and catfish too....I have 5 stocked ponds of them thar cats.......all wishing I'd have knitted them some sweaters.....boy, its colder than a...ummm...well it's really cold.
Yep.....the Minnesota Yankee girl, here, with the Hippie roots, in San Fran.....transplanted into the middle of Mo...south central Ozarks.....you dont think Im an odd ball...all the neighbors come outta the woods once a week.......just to take another look.......after 25 years they are still wondering who the truckinfarmer brought home with him.
And....talk about family tree.....woohoooooo....Land Family tree back til about 1600...and I think they are all still living here in the 'hood. :))) We live on a farm....that if you go dig a hole for fishin worms up by the barn...you know ...in the barn lot..where its soft and mushy?....well..you usually dig up salt and pepper shakers from 4 generations ago.....where the old smoke house fell down......lemme tell ya...this is OLD country....just ripe with geneology.....:)))))))))
We are in Dent Co.....near to the southern border....there is nothing here......but, wilderness......and the Mark Twain Natl forest, and the Current River.....we plan for a week to go to WallyWorld......lol...not quite..but, this is rural....hmmmmm..
Well...its a small world....so to keep this message in the line of roots.....well....Lands in Dent Co....and they are related directly to 17 other local sir names....hubby could never have married local.....he would have had a cousin for a wife...:))
Jerry.....you got me started....now I will blame you....lol...for the spurt of words........
And, I will take the luck for the sound of a name...when its Scandinavian....you have to look at lots of angles.....I have Ikolas too.....my Grandmother was an Ikola....not one Ikola looking up family roots....and, they didnt come thru Ellis Island.....and they came about 1896......but they lived in Mass til they went west to Minn....my Granny was born in New Hampshire on the way........
My other Minn relatives (Trebilcocks...English)....left traces...and ship manifests for me to look at....but, the Finns are very elusive........:(
