I am playing the big hand here....and I will be sending for a death certificate after the holiday to St.Paul.....

The funny thing is....the ships manifests do not show the name on my Grandfathers death certificate....it is Matt E. Niemi.......and all the Matts.....are Matti......Im thinking that with a strong Finnish accent...Matt E....sounded like Matti to the person at Ellis Island processing..in 1910...so I found a Matti Niemi, the right time...and the right state....and he was going to a friend in Brainerd......if I find this is the right Matte/ Matte E..whatever.......I will contact the folks in Brainerd....

I dont live in the area..and havent since I was a child...we moved from the Mesabi Range in 53 to California....and then in 70 I moved back to the heartland, and now live in the Missouri Ozarks...on a farm. Just me and my computer...j/k....lol...and, a now older farmer....:))

But, if I run into anything....that might help you...I will post it immediately......and thanks so much for the reply....
