That's very interesting to know, i like to have the meaning of surnames included in my family history pages. I also have Heptinstalls in my family, who i believe are from Birstall in West Yorkshire- a George Heptinstall married Annie Grace and they had a son called John Rodney who drowned in a dam trying to rescue his friend......
