Christopher Hercules Bio, Livingston Co, IL

I have been researching William Hercules, son of William and Elizabeth (French) Hercules. William and his family moved from Warren Co, OH to Chatsworth, Livingston Co, Illinois. I haven't been very successful in finding maney records for this family as yet, but I was sent this bio for C. Hercules by a Look-up volunteer for Livingston Co. From further research, I now know that this C. Hercules is indeed Christopher Hercules of whom you seek. The article states they had 12 children - Census records should be of help. Also, there are some marriage records that are probably their children in the Illinois marriage index online (usgenweb).
Here is the bio:
1909 History of Livingston Co., IL,Munsell Publishers/Chicago (1909)

Page 939, 940: "Hercules, C., one of the oldest and most highly esteemed
residents of Pontiac, IL, a gallant veteran of the Civil War long a useful
member of the community, and recognized by his fellow citizen as a most
worthy example of the true Christian gentlemen, was born inWarren Co., OH,
April 3, 1827. He is a son of William and Elizabeth Hercules, natives of PA,
who moved to OH at an early period in the last century, and there both passed
the remainder of their lives. C. Hercules was reared on a farm and in early
youth attended the district schools in his vicinity afterwards learning the
carpenters' trade, and subsequently becoming a bridge carpenter. In 1862 he
enlisted in Co. G., 129 Regiment IL Volunteer Infantry and was wounded in the
engagement at Burnt Hickory, GA, where he lost his left arm. Mr. Hercules
has lived in Pontiac, IL since 1856, and up to the time of his retirement
from active carpenter, being also engaged for a part of the time as
collector. He is the owner of a fine residence at No. 726, east Howard
Street, which he occupies with his family in comfort and contentment, resting
in the satisfaction that follows a life honorably and usefuly spent. Mr.
Hercules was married to Jane Elizabeth Farhner, a native of PA. twelve
children are the offspring of this union, of whom nine are still living. In
politics, Mr. Hercules has been a Republican since the organization of that
party. Fraternally, he is affiliated with the I. O. O. F. He has always
taken an earnest and active interest in the prosperity of Pontiac and has
been helpful in charitable and philanthropic movements, and in all
undertakings calculated to promote the welfare of his fellowmen. For many
years his religious faith was that of the Presbyterian denomination, but he
is now a communicant of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He is an honored
member of the Grand Army of the Republic, and is deeply respected by all
classes in the community."
