Surnames: Herdman, Hartman, Blosser, Ruble
Have been researching my HARTMAN family and found some HERDMANs living between the two location where the Hartmans lived so thought they might actually be "lost" Hartmans. However, now I'm convinced they're truly Herdmans and I'd like to share what I've found in case it can be of help to someone. Found a John J. b. 1814 PA and Henry Herdman b. 1818 PA both living in Springhill, Fayette, PA at the time of the 1850 Census. John J. dies there in 1879, appearing on the 1880 Motality Schedule on which someone reported that his parents were born in Ohio! Henry m. Sarah BLOSSER and appears to have migrated to Wood, WV by 1870 where one of his daughters married into a distant branch of my Ruble family. One of John J.'s sons, Henry B., migrated to Gunnison and Saguache counties in Colorado. If anyone is interested in either of these families, I'd be happy to share the details of what I've located.
