I have come across a handwritten diary/notebook of Alice Hereford and looked her up to see if I could find some info on her. Looks like she is the wife of Frank (which looks to be the Congressman/Senator from Union, WV), and her children Harriet, Catherine, and Alexander. The 1880 census has Catherine with a C, but she has it spelled with a K in the book. There is a ton to read - lists of books she has read, inventory items, gifts from weddings, letters she has copied from children, etc. If anyone connected to this line is interested in this let me know.
