      <description>From Appleton (Wisconsin) Post Crescent dated Monday, January 19, 1959&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;William Herm&lt;br&gt;William Herm, 84, Bear Creek, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at New London after a short illness. He was born March 27, 1874, in Greenville. He was a retired farmer.&lt;br&gt;Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran church, Shawano, with burial in the Woodlawn cemetery, Shawano. Friends may call at the Cartch Funeral home, Shawano, after 2 p.m. Tuesday.&lt;br&gt;He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Earl Schroeder, Shawano; two sons, Howard, Bear Creek, with whom he lived, and Sgt. William, Frankfort, Germany; three brothers, John, Underhill, Adolph, Clintonville, and Louis, Oconto Falls; six sisters, Mrs. Clare Schmidt, Clintonville, Mrs. Charles Darrow, Gillett, Mrs. Minnie Heuer, Milwaukee, Mrs. Elizabeth Helmke, Sheboygan, Mrs. Emil Kobs, Underhill, and one in Beloit; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.</description>

      <title>Obit for William Herm (1849 – 1924)</title>

      <description>From Shawano County (WI) Advocate dated February 26, 1924&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;DEATH OF WILLIAM HERMS&lt;br&gt;William Herms, aged 75 years, father of Mrs. Chas. Darrow and Mrs. Otto Helmke, died at his home near Cecil last Thursday of dropsy.&lt;br&gt;Deceased was born in Germany but came to this country with his parents when he was a boy. He was married and lived in the town of Washington until about eight years ago when he moved to his farm near Cecil. Sixteen children were born to this couple, thirteen of whom survive and were present at the funeral.&lt;br&gt;The funeral was held Monday morning from the German Lutheran church at Cecil and interment was in the cemetery there. – Gillett Times&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Article first appeared the previous week in the Gillett (WI) Times.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;William Herm (1 Apr 1849 - 14 Feb 1924) and his wife Louise Zimmel Herm (5 May 1850 - 19 Jan 1943) are buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Cecil, Shawano County, Wisconsin.</description>

Is this your branch? -- Amand came from Baden to East Peoria/Washington IL. the mid-late 1800's, gave birth to Adam and Bert.       <description>Dear brose&lt;br&gt;quick note&lt;br&gt;my branch is different than yours. haven't found much gathered yet- richard herm, born berlin, germany, 1876 or so, came to chicago, ill. area in 1896, married emma winzenreid in 1904, had 4 sons, the youngest of which was my grandfather, who raised family in detroit. thanks for your information. interesting to know of different brranches.&lt;br&gt;stephanie</description>

      <description>Andy: I am willing to share information- I have only gone back about 3 generations, and am still looking in this country. That is, I am on the generation that got here from Germany. Someone told me Herm is a common name there. &lt;br&gt;One thing: I am not sure (unless you got this message) that I can get a message to where you can read it. Is there a clearer way to reach you by computer? (or otherwise?)</description>
