The lines I have are further back. If you can give me another generation or two back in time, I may be able to connect the dots. I'm sorry. I worked on the early families and did not bring them down into the later 1800s.

Hi there! There is a William Emmett Herrell who is my great great grandfather. He married Cynthia Devault and they had several children one of which was my great grandfather Alonzo Lonnie Herrell. I believe there was a William E. Herrell, Jr. also. hope this helps.

My Great Grandfather's (Alonzo Lonnie Herrell) parents were William Herrell and Cynthia Devault. He had siblings one of which was named Clarence Herrell (b. 1905 in Rose Hill, VA; d. 1981 in Knoxville, TN) who married Charity Yeary. They has 6 children named Virgina Herrell, Arlie Herrell, Astor Herrell, Landon Herrell, James Carter Herrell, and Andy Herrell, Sr.

I have a George Herrel born abt. 1868 m. Lillian A.M. Schmidt on 2 Sept. 1911. Their sons are William b. 1903 /William b. 1913 d. 1938 / Walter b. 1917. We also have Fredericks in the family.

She did have a sister named Sara but I don't know anything else really.

I would love for you to send me the info, and I would love a picture of your dad. I think he was pretty close to my older brothers and sisters when they were young. I don't know much about John Edward but I did hear he was a scoundrel and that he died in prison I think in Texas. He was very hard to trace because no one wanted to talk about him. You know, skeletons in the closet!! My sister might have more info than I do, I will contact her and see what she has on him.

Thank you for the information on the Adams. I have a few stories, but not many about Edward Newton's father. I don't think anyone has a lot of info on him. I heard he was a man not willing to settle down, he was away from the family most of the time. Grandma Lydia Louise or Louisa lived with my Grandpa when she was very old. I think she died when she was about 104. I know she was Indian. and she use to sit in the bed with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders singing Indian chants. My mother was a young girl at the time, but she remembered her well. I will send you more in a letter. If you have any please send them to me. I would love some pictures of you and your family. I loved the one of your father. I have been keeping in touch with Paul, Laney's son. He lives in Japan. Maybe someday we can all get together. A reunion for all the cousins!

Hazel Woodward Carter compiled a listing of the Harrell/Herrell family and descendants of Claiborne Co. Tn. and includes lines descended into other states. Montgomery Harrell b 1823 and his wife Matilda Brooks seem to be the first generation with any reliability. The relationship of people in the book is difficult to sort through. If this book is known and others have it, great. If not, I do have a copy.

they are buried in the Peace Creek Cemetery,Reno Co , Kansas.

Their son,(my grandfather) Charlie Ellis Herrell lived and farmed in the Peace Creek community and is buried there.

His daughter(my mother)Deloris Herrell Young, is still living in Hutchinson, Kansas

Rheuben/Rueben H. Herrell, born 9 Dec 1846 in Bates Co., MO died 8 Jan 1863 in Butler, Bates Co., MO buried in Double Branch Cemetery outside of Butler.

Martha Ann Herrell, born 15 Oct 1848 Bates Co., MO died 17 Jan 1863 Butler, Bates Co., MO. buried in Double Branch Cemetery outside of Butler.

Amanda Elizabeth, born 8 Nov 1857 Bates Co., MO died 10 Oct 1859 Bates Co., MO buried Double Branch Cemetery outside of Butler.

The ones that died in 1863 died from a cholora epidemic. I don't know why Amanda died.

Last Sunday at Wide Springs Presbyterian Church, W. T. Pound and Mrs. R. P. Herrell, both living on Ashflat north of Byrne, were married, Rev. W. J. B. Lloyd of Bennington, performing the ceremony. Mrs. Herrell is the widow of the late Robert P. Herrell, and is a fine lady. Mr. Pound is an old citizen of this section of country and has many friends who heartily congratulate him for his good fortune in securing Mrs. Herrell as a life partner.

DEATH CALLS ROBERT P. HERRELL

At his home about 8 miles north of the city, last Friday night, Robert P. Herrell, one of the best known and most highly respected citizens of this section, passed over the river of death to answer the roll call among that mighty host encamped upon the other shore. He had suffered with erysipelas for sometime, and while serving on the jury at Atoka became ill with pneumonia which was the cause of his death.

It pains us to have to chronicle the death of this good man, who was one of our best friends. We knew him and admired him for his gentle ways and his regard for his word; for his word was his bond.

The remains were laid to rest in the Moore Cemetery near Byrne Saturday evening amid a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends. He was a member of Oconee Lodge Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the burial was conducted by that Lodge under a very impressive ceremony. Many friends in this city attended the burial to pay their last respects to their deceased friend.

Mr. Harrell leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss. The Press joins the entire population of the city in extending deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.

hi connie...my wilhelmina herral/herrell is orignally from germany...baden baden...she died in yorkshire at the age of 26...she married charles speight ...they are my gr grandparents

i am not yet sure if she had any siblings but i am presuming she did...i will let you know if i find her
