Leon and Ferdinand Herz

Hello! I am trying to find something about Leon Herz who was the son of Ferdinand Herz and Clementine Freiburg. He was in Argentine about 1913 when he had 3 sons: Fernando, Alberto y Roberto Herz. He died in Argentine.
I want to know more. I don´t have any further information. I don´t know where he was born. I know he came to America fron Europe and that he worked for Continental Company but I want to know more ´cause he´s my grand grand father. Thanks. Mariana

Hi, I'm looking for any information about my Herz ancestry from Austria.

Nathan Herz (b.1859) married Reggie (1862-1939)and the two moved to NYC where they had 4 children - Abraham, Emiel, Regina and Aaron. Abraham Herz then married Ethel Eibeschutz and they had 2 children, Natalie and Jerome.

If any of this sounds familiar to you, or if you have any other information about Abraham's brothers, sister and/or parents, please let me know.

My paternal grandfather Heinrich Herz came from Bad Friederichshal, Germany (Lander of Wuerttemberg). He emigrated to New York in 1881 or '82 and worked on the Brooklyn Bridge as a draftsman before going into sales.

Hi

Looking to see to if anyone has a Alfred Herz in there line, made multiple trips from Baden or Bremen Germany between possibly 1895 and 1900. On his last trip in to the states he changed his name to Herbst and lived in Brooklyn NY. He possibly also had a brother Adolf and a sister Clara. He married an Hermine which we think also came over from Germany with him, but he was previously married before marrying Hermine. He had the following children, Henry, Emma, Lillian and Helen but they all had the last name of Herbst.

Hi. There is an Ancestry.com ship passenger record of a Pauline Herz coming to NY from Hamburg in 1851. I have a birth date for her of Mar 7, 1844, daughter of Itzig Baruch Herz and Therese Berkheim from Berlin. Think this might be the same person? Email me directly at HLH88@earthlink.net

Hello! I am seeking info. on 3 sisters and their parents from the Unterbergen/Unterwalden/Winniki area of Austria (Galicia); late 1800s. Sisters were: CHRISTINA ELIZABETH HERZ/Hertz (b. 1878) who married KARL HORNUNG(b. 10-29-1876)probably in Unterbergon, and came to the U.S.(St. Paul, MN)in June 1903 on the Grosser Kurfurst from Bremmen. They came with small sons Julius (2 yrs.)and Carl (under 1),
as well as Christina's two sisters: ROSINE HERZ (b. 1880)and KAROLINE HERZ (b. 3-12-1882), m. Jacob Michael Bredy (b. 3-18-1881, from Unterwalden) about 1903-4 in St. Paul. Jacob and Karoline/Caroline then moved to Los Angeles.

Trying hard to locate Herz sisters' parents names (know that the mother's maiden last name was Dietrich) and their place of origin and vital doc's. Almost certain they came from Unterbergen, but think Christina and Karl were living in Winniki just before emmigrating. Have found nothing on Europe side. Thanks so much for any info. or direction you can provide.

Ni,is impossible,mother of Leopold wa born in 1798 and still alive in 1845.
Léopold Herz was born in Rheindürkheim (Grand Duchy of Hesse - Germany) in 1821, April, the 10th, natural child of Dina Hertz, 47 years old in 1845,
domiciled in Osthoffen (Grand Duchy of Bade - Germany).
His wife Adelaïde Friedmann, domiciled before in Worms (Grand Duchy of Hesse), was born in Roxheim (Bavaria - Germany) in 1821, November, the 22nd.
They emigrated in NY in 1849 with first child Cornelius and in NY were born other 3 or 4 children; Leopold in a second time emigrated in Paris and died in London,while his wife died in Italy in 1890.

I suppose it is possible, though that would put 29 years between siblings Jacob (1850) and Leopold.

Do you know if your Leopold had any additional siblings? My grandmothers, records indicate that there were 7 additional siblings, Seligmann, Bernhard, Alex, Samuel, Jenny, Hanna and Unknown Male (perhaps died at birth)

Maybe were born from same family. Leopold HERZ was born in 1821 in Hesse, married in 1845 in Besançon,France. His elder son Cornelius who lived in San Francisco, Paris and London had a daughter named Sybil...
maybe there was connections between families.

Hello,

I have in my family tree a Leopold Herz, who was the son of Salomon and Sibille Herz. My records show Leopold was born in Wiesbaden, and Salomon was born in Nuembrecht. I don't have a birth date for Leopold, but one of siblings, Jacob was born in 1850.

Do you have any information regarding Leopold?

I'm researching about HERZ family emigrated in London. Dr.Cornelius HERZ (1845-1898) went in UK about in 1892 with his family. His wife, Bianca SARONI and children, Irma, Edna, Ralph Calixtus (future actor), Olga, Sybil and Adelaide. They after 1901 go to USA, while Bianca, as widow ended her life in Bruxelles. The only child thata I can't find is SYBIL. She was listed in London Census 1901 as 15 years old living in a College of London. I'm researching about HERZ family of Jewish origin emigrated in New York in 1848 with Leopold HERZ and his wife Adelaide FREIDMANN; tehy were parents of politician Cornelius HERZ, involved in '90 of XIX century in scandal of Panama Canal. Joseph HERZ, Cornelius' brother, went in Cook county in 1872, and had descendatns. Now I think there are in Illinois sons of Theodore HERZ (1909-1966) and Florence CAMPBELL.
Virginia HERZ (d.1945) married in Manhattan dr.Joseph Glaser while her sister Mathilda HERZ married italian baritone N.Zardo and became mother of pianist Eric ZARDO. If you have informations or relation with this family write me! Federico

Blanche Stella Herz (Hurst)

Does anyone know anything about this individual, and her sister Marguerite Vera Herz?

I know they were born in St Marylebone, London in 1903 and 1905 respectively, and Blanche Hurst died in 1995. I believe their birth names were Herz, not Hurst but this was subsequently changed. Their mother was Stephanie Marx.

Your Pauline Herz: I have a Pauline Herz, whose parents reportedly were born in Bavaria.

My Pauline Herz was born Apr 22, 1873 in Milw WI, d.1913.
On Dec 31, 1894 she married Adolf Levy in Milwaukee WI, & they had 2 children, Stanley and Blanche.

Could the 2 Paulines be the same?

Hi,
My step-father, would like to find information on his mother's family. All I know is her name was Alfrieda HERZMAN, b.? died Jan 28, 1964 in Oelwein, Fayette County, IA. She was married to George Austin Speed in 1919.
My step-father is 74 and he is beginning to have loss of memory, so can't remember names dates, etc. Would like to help him if I can.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you
for the obvious hard work that you
have put into the Herz web pages.
I never realized that there were so
many Herz's in the States. The only
information that I can get out of my
grandmother is that 2 brothers (Herz)
came from Germany and ended up in
Chicago. One of the brothers was my
grandfather (with a couple greats in
front of that i'm sure). The other brother
it is rumored that he came across the wrong
set of men and was never seen again.
If that is entirely true, I do not know.
We do not have much of our past as our
relatives did not keep much record or
care to tell each other much information.
I am extremely new at this, and I do not
have a great amount of time to spend on
searches. I thank you and the others on
the Herz message board for keeping our
name alive!

I am trying to find children of Peter Besquaer and Theresia Hoff. They married on 24 Nov 1778 at Kuppenheim, Baden, Germany. Peter was the son of Franz Besquaer and Anna Maria Hertz of Kehl/Rhein (Alsace back then?)
The parents of Theresia Hoff were Johannes Hoff and Katharina Warth of Kuppenheim.
This ties into my Herz line of Kuppenheim.

I am looking for the parents of Anna Marie Herz. She was born 1/6/1906 in New York. Her brother, William born 11/8/1897. Anna married Robert Lecher sometime after 1932. I know the family stayed in New York. The 1920 census stated William married Marie and had a son named Edward. Looked for Anna in the 1920 census, but not listed. Anna and Robert moved to Arat, Pennsylvania sometime after 1946 after the birth of their son Eugene Edward b. 2/23/1946.
