Finally got into my records. Actually I am unsure where you got the certificate you mention, as according to the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index 1863-1900, the marriage you mention took place on 1 June 1872 in St. Clair Co Illnois. Charles and Elizabeth had a son Charles born in 1878 who married a Marie Langel in Marion Co IL on said 25 Sep 1904. I have 4 children listed for the latter Charles and Marie from a file on Rootsweb giving that marriage date and bride. I do not have the father for Charles born 1848 in Germany. My Frederick of course born about 1825 Germany and came to this country sometime before 1854 but I have no idea when.

I am a descendent of Frederick Heser and I am researching Heser's generally in the US. I thought maybe there was a connection to my Frederick from this Charles. please email me personally at wearemorse at yahoo dot com. Unfortunately I no longer have a scanner to copy the marriage certificate. As regards to whether I am family - I am a War Babe from WW11 and my search for my natural father 17 years ago led me to this mans son. So this man would be my Grandfather. I have a marriage certificate of a Charles Heser dated 25th September 1904 who married an Elizabeth Hebber in Marion County Illinois. He was 18 and she was 21. There are other names on the certificate, could there be any connection?

Reserarching Charles HESER, born 1848 Germany, died 1901 Marion County, Illinois. Charles married an Elizabeth Heberer, born Illinois. This is not a direct line to my HESER in Wisconsin, however, the HESER spelling is not common and there could be connections to Germany. I do have a little information on Charles and descendants which I will share.

Researching Frederick W. Heser born 1825 Prussia (possiblyPreuBen Germany). It is unknown when he
immigrated to the US, but according to an obituary of Barbara Silverhorn Heser Boehm, was married to Barbara
on April 8, 1854 in Cleveland, Ohio. Soon after their marriage they came to Wisconsin, spending about one
year in Hartford (Sauk Co) and in 1855 moved to Neilsville, Clark County, then in 1863 moved to LaGrange
Township, Monroe County, Wisconsin. A few years back, a volunteer checked the marriages in OH and did not find any such marriage recorded at that time. On Barbara's marriage certificate to her second husband, Albert Boehm, she lists her father as George Silberhorn and mother as Dorothea (nee) Bauer. Whoever filled out the certificate spelled Barbara's name as Barbara HISER. Frederick W. Heser died in 1875 and is buried in Monroe Co, Wisconsin.

Of course, the various census had spellings of HESER/HEAZER/HUSER and the tombstone of two of
Frederick's sons are spelled HUSER. But generally after 1880 the spelling stabilized at HESER.

I am hoping that someone can help with German records for Frederick or Barbara. She was from Bayern
Germany and there were Heser's in the Bayern area. Possibly they had common roots/language.
