I am trying to locate Balthasar (Baltzer) Hess who came from Germany on the Thistle of Glasgow in 1730 with his father, Jeremiah (jeremias) Hess. It is said that Balthasar came to Bedford County, PA where he had a Land Grant 1787. I also am trying to find who his children were.
Did he have a son named Peter Hess? If so, what was the birth year for Peter? Peter Hess is listed in the Revolutionary War as a Prison Guard, York County, PA, he served under G. Bennington. Peter Hess is buried at Burnt Meeting House Cemetery, Morgantown, WV and he is listed with the DAR. Death Record says died in 1833.
