I am tracing a HESSION ancestor. The only information I have is that my great grandmother, Ellen, married Mark GRIIFFIN. I do not have the date of the marriage but I suspect it had to be around the birth of the first child, Patrick HESSION. My research in LDS records indicates that Patrick's birth was Dec 23, 1865 in Tuam, Galway so perhaps they married earlier in 1865 or 1864.

According to LDS records Ellen & Mark GRIFFIN went on to have the following children after Patrick: Mark Jul 22, 1867 born Galway; Mary Mar 1, 1870 born Mayo (Hollymount); Honoria born Dec 24, 1871 Mayo (Hollymount?); Julia Dec 25, 1873 born Ballindine Mayo; Ellen born Feb 19, 1876 in Mayo (Ballindine?).
I have two more children who I did not find in the LDS records- these are from the Mayo Family History Center records:
Catherine ("Kate") GRIFFIN christened Oct, 10, 1877 Kilcolman RC parish, Michael FITZPATRICK and Celia NALLY (two neighbors - related or not?) were the sponsors; Anthony GRIFFIN born Dec 6, 1881 at Ballykennave, Ballindine district.

The 1901 Irish census puts Mark and Ellen both then aged 60 at Ballykinava, Kilcolman, Clanmorris Mayo listing his occupation as farmer. The siblings Kate age 20 and Anthony age 17 are the only other members of the household at this time. I have info of Ellen's last son Anthony in USA as I am his grandchild but know nothing of his siblings.

I know that Anthony emigrated to Brooklyn NY June 15, 1905 via the "Teutonic" - his origin was Lancashire at that time. Anthony was on his way to join his sister Ellen GRIFFIN who paid his passage.

Any information about Ellen HESSION or related HESSION plus the rest of her GRIFFIN offspring would be helpful. I seek to learn when and where she may have died and who her parents or siblings were at time of the birth (1841 ?)... presume she could have been born in Tuam Galway.
