Also, I think it's uncanny because James (b. 1874) and Illen(Ellen)(b. 1873) Bishop had a daughter, Mary Bishop (b. 1898) who married Ernest Schroeder, who then had a child Kenneth Schroeder (b. 1923) who was my grandfather.

All of the aforementioned people lived in Hoboken, New Jersey / Hackensack, New Jersey.

Just trying to find some connections!

Eric

I've realized that I have some relatives from the Jersey area, and I was wondering if you would have any information or leads on a Patrick Nolan (born about 1836 in Ireland) married to Elizabeth Nolan (b. 1840) Children: Mary Ann (b. 1862), Kate (b. 1864), Elizabeth (b. 1866) and Agnes (aprx. 1870).

Patrick/Elizabeth's daughter Elizabeth married James Bannon.

Any ideas or suggestions for where I could find more information?

Thanks!

Eric

Mary, today is your lucky day! IMy wife, June Novak (nee Nolan), also is the great-great grandchild of Frances Heuston. And, John and Frances actually had 16 children (two died as infants). I have reseached the Nolans of West Hoboken, and have tons of data on their marriages, deaths, politics, etc.

I also met Graham Heuston through the Internet, who spent over 20 years of researching the Heustons. He gave me data on the family all the way back to the 1100s!

Please email me off the bulletin board so I can get you this data. My email address is: Thomas.Novak1@Prodigy.net

BTW, Frances Heuston had a rough life, but came out ok. Here is what I mean:

It appears that Frances Heuston came over to the United States in 1865 and settled in West Hoboken with her parents and the rest of the family; she was only 12 years old, but was the eldest. Her father died on February 19, 1870; her brother William was born 4 days later on February 23, 1870 and died after 8 days on March 3, 1870. Her mother died the following year on July 27, 1871. Frances, at the age of 18, must have then had to take care of her two year old sister, Mary, who consequently died on November 16, 1871. Thus, in November 1871, the family consisted of Frances, age 18; John 16; Robert, 11; and Patrick, 5. Somehow she kept the family together and married John Nolan in 1875. In the 1880 census, it showed Robert and Patrick living with John and Frances Nolan.

I have a lot of William and Robert HEUSTON's in my wife's line, but back earlier than 1815 in Ireland. I will post a general message today at the top of this board about them. Do you have any history on where/when your HEUSTON surname came from Ireland?

Tom

I think I can help you if you get back to Ireland, but I cannot help you with the US in the midwest. My Heustons came over in 1866 and settled in the NJ/NY area.

Tom

Searching for the ancestors of Robert and Willam Heuston as follows:

Robert HEUSTON, born 1760, Tipperary, married Mary Dale, and became quite wealthy. Lived in a mansion by name of "Ballykisteen" They had nine children: William Robert(born 1792, first son); John, Robert, Samuel, Richard and sisters Susan, Jane, Margaret, and Hannah. Don't know anything about the eight other children, but William Robert is in my wife's line.

Willam Robert HEUSTON, born Oct 12, 1792. Common law marriage with Mary Ryan, but married Sophia Albine Corbett, but she died in childbirth so he married her sister Jane. William had a son John with Mary Ryan (but could not marry her since she was Catholic), and gave him his surname HEUSTON. Also, with Jane, they had four children: Robert (1822), Jane (1823), Philip (1825), and Mary Anne (1827).

William Heuston b. abt 1815

Still trying to connect with other researchers of my gggrandfather's line! He went by William but I'm beginning to wonder if that was his middle name, rather than first! Anyway, what we think we have is:

William b. abt 1815 prob in OH (he generally reported OH on census). We only know of one marriage and that was to Almira HATCH BARBER, prob. in OH since that's where she was born and raised. She had been married prev. and had a son named S. Hartsell BARBER b. 1849.So William and Almira married after that.

They had 2 sons (Ebenezer and Theodore J.) both b. in INbetween 1855 and 1860). In 1863 their 3rd son (my ggrandfather) Jerome DeWitt was b. Kickapoo Creek, Atlanta Twsp, Logan County, IL. By 1870 the family was living in Greenwood County, KS.

Ebenezer married Caroline L. CRAIG in Wilson County 1875; Jerome m. Sarah Ann CARTER 1889 in Big Heart, OK; Theodore "disappeared" after the 1870 KS census.

I have a William HEUSTON d. 1875 according to Kansas Mortality Schedule. No info on Almira's death at all.

Would really appreciate any ideas, suggestions to help me out on this brick wall.
Tom ~ no, I sure don't. Hope you have something to help me. A couple of things have changed so my last post:

Have found Wm's marriage record to Almira HATCH BARBER in Delaware co, IN 1850.

Have found that he *probably* is related to Ann(a) HUESTON who married Wm DeWitt in 1848 in Delaware Co, IN.

The DeWitt and Hueston families migrated together to Logan Co, IL and then into KS. Ann(a) & Wm DeWitt are buried in Carlisle Cem, Toronto, KS and Wm is supposedly buried w/them but we've been unable to find the marked headstone.

My new home email address: itsstillme@charter.net

Going to see what you've posted and have my fingers crossed. When he died she apparently stayed single for some time. He 2nd husband was John A. Fisher who she married 10-9-1912 in Springfield, Il. In the obit for John A. Fisher, she is called Georgiana Jumpp Fisher. He was 81 when they married but I think she was a bit younger than he was. Any info would be very much appreciated. I am trying to locate where she married John A. Fisher. I can not find the marriage certificate on them. Any help out there??????/

He also had a son, my Uncle, Leland who lived in Hollidaysburg. Benjamin was born in 1872 and died in 1943. With the information you have could this be the same family.

Kent, I am a Heuston descendent also, from Susannah Heuston, child of Robert and Mary Dale Heuston, who daughtered out when she married Joseph Prosser Jr. in 1810 in Tipperary. I am trying to reconstruct this 19th century family. So many children (mostly with the same given names)
it is hard to keep them straight.

Do you know who the parents/grandparents of Benjamin LeRoy Heuston were?
Jo Callender

Heustons of KY and IN

Hi, hope somone can help me locate the parents and sibilings of a William H. Hueston who married a Sarah E. Kenney in March 1869 in Grant Co. Indiana. Supposedly William was born someplace in Kentucky and Sarah was, again, supposedly born somplace in Ohio.

The 1880 census index lists the following:

John Huston age 62 born in IN
John Huston age 38 born in IN
John F. Huston age 23 born in KY
Mary A. Huston age 33 born in KY
William Huston age 70 born in PA
William H. Huston age 35 born in KY

I suspect that based on the ages John F., Mary A. and William H. Hueston are broters and sister. The 70 year old William may be the father but as of yet I haven't found anything saying that he was ever in KY. I believe the 70 year old is the husband of Plessa Morris

The 1831-1882 Grant Co. Marriage Records lists:

John F. Hueston marrying Sarah E. Kimes on 15 Apr 1880
William H. Hueston marrying Sarah E. Kenney on 18 Mar 1869

I have nothing indicating where any of these folks died but there was a John Hueston who passed away on 22 Mar 1928 in Grant Co. This may or may not be John F.

William H. Hueston and Sarah (KENNEY) Hueston did have 3 daughters and one son that I'm aware of. Rachel who was my
g grandmother, Eva, Margaret, and John who died in 1880 at the age of 2 and is buried in Ringdon Cemetary in Grant Co. Rachel somehow ended up in Tipton Co. IN, I suspect near Hobbs, and married my g grandfather, Willard Wesley Shook, in 1895. Does anyone know anything of this family? I would really appreciate the help. My email address is Grizz224@aol.com. Thanks in advance, Bill

Ed, I do not believe there is a connection. Phillip and Fanny (nee Mulvy) Heuston were born in 1825 and 1830 in Ireland. They immigrated in 1865 to Hudson County with their children, who were born in Ireland: Frances (b 1853), John (b 1855), and Robert (b 1860). They had Patrick (b 1866), Mary (b 1869) and William (b. 1870). Mary and William died very young, and Phillip (d. 1870) and Fanny (d. 1871) also died early.

Phillip's father and mother were William and Jane. Since this family immigarted to Hudson County and were buried in Holy Name, maybe there is a connection between our two families here?
