I just noted your posting regarding Heverin. My great grandmother was Mary Catherine Heverin (born in Nashville, Tennesee in 1849.) Her parents were Michael Heverin and Ellen Heverin (don't know Ellen's maiden name, but she was from Wales.) Michael immigrated from England, but I think he was Irish. He too was a stonecutter and was probably related to the Heverin family that settled in Nashville. However, Michael and family stayed only briefly in Tennessee and moved to San Francisco. Ellen died in childbirth (a few years after giving birth to Mary Catherine) and is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA with her daughter Mary Catherine, and granddaughter, Mary Ellen Collins. Mary Catherine Heverin married my great grandfather, James Grattan Hayden. She died at 28 in San Francisco after giving birth to five children, three of whom lived full adult lives. Would love to know more about where the Heverins immigrated from. Nancy Crowley
