Looking for information on the Höxter family of Treysa, Germany....

Levi HÖXTER (ca 1710
.....Sussman HÖXTER (1757 - 1836)
........Meyer HEXTER (1789 - 1872 VA)
.........David HEXTER(1798- 1869VA / DC)
.........Isaac HEXTER (? - ? USA)
.........Feisel HÖXTER ( ? - ? Germany)
.........Levi HÖXTER (? - ? Germany)
.........Judel HÖXTER (1807 - ? Germany)
.........Heineman HEXTER (1810 - ? MD?)

David and Isaac came to the US around 1822. Heineman immigrated to Baltimore in 1834 and Meyer in 1837. Name was HÖXTER in Germany.. withouth the umulaut that would be HOEXTER. In the US the early immigrants went by the name of HEXTER. Those who came later may have used the HOEXTER or even HOCHSTER, HOECHSTER OR HOXTER. spelling.

Family members remained in Treysa until the beginning of WWII.
