Hello everyone.... I recently ordered a bunch of burial permits and death notices from the St. Louis library in hopes of finding information on the HEYL name. As we all know, many times we need to expand our "name" to find missing links. Unfortunately none of the Heyl family appeared, but I now have information that I would like the HEY family to have. If any of these people are yours, and you would like copies of these papers, just contact me and we can make arrangements to get these to you. Benellen is pictured in the 1924 Branding Iron, yearbook of Mason High School, as a senior. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone else.

Matilda or Tilly as she was know was born in 1891 dau of Christian Hey and Elizabet Debus in Zurich Ontario - she married LLOYD O'NEIL in 1917 in Zurich. LLOYD was employed with the dairy in or about the Hamilton Ontario area - their children may be Neil, Hazel, Russell, Shirley - seeking obit information and contact with family lines - believed she died after 1964 - she may have been wheelchair bound in later life but was still in Hamilton area -- any tidbits will help and will be appreciated.

my name is Alexander Meinhard and I am deeply interested in any Meinhard(t)s or Mineharts. The database I have shows the Meinhard family dating back to 1450 with its origin in Siegen, Westphalia, Germany.

Heinrich, formerly Henrich is a very common first name in this list.

It's not so simple. Note that Aaron Hey (b 1846), son of Edwin Hey & Ann Wilson, had a daughter Beatrice (b 1875) who married Samuel Rushworth in 1898. Not the same Aaron Hey, and Samuel Rushworth may not have been (closely) related to your Betty. Note also that Rushworth and Rushforth were effectively interchangeable.

I pay for and receive the UK English information from Ancestry. I plugged in Search Keighley England Registers for that info. We also go to the nearby Latter Day Saints branch where they are very helpful. I sent this message two days ago but it did not get in the message board. Maybe because I gave you my screen name. I thought it would be easier.

Herman Liesman born 3/7/1832 in Germany and on 7/29/1958 in Dupage County IL married Amalie Eise Hey born ? .

I found some info on kids.

Amanda Margaret (Listed as Leismann) born 6/24/1859 in Naperville, Dupage County, Illinois.

Katherine born 8/13/1863 Harrisburg Dauphin co. Pa Died 6/4/1936 Newburg Jasper co Ia. Married Harvey Mitchell Breeden 12/10/1884 Jasper Ia.

Bruce/Bismark (listed as Leismann) born 9/7/1867 Harrisburg Dauphin Pa.

Didn't know if you had found this info. Sorry it wasn't more on Anna or Amalie. Hope this helps.

Just a blank for you to fill in! In the 1562-1836 Keighley Register, Joseph Hey married Betty Rushworth on July 31,1825. Now you have another name to investigate.

We have no Hiram in our background to 1800. I do notice that Joseph Hey and Betty (in the old Keighley birth records) have four children listed. They are Hirum,1826, Agnes,1828, Laycock,1835, and Aaron, 1837. My husband's family goes back to John Hey and Martha who had William,1825, Sunderland, Pearson, and Rebecca. William is the one that left Keighley and came to Lawrence, Mass.

Sorry to take so long. I don't think we're (or I should say my husband and you) are closely related but let's face it. A small town in England has so many people with the surname Hey that it must have merged way back.
We're still trying to take things back from 1800 and we will try the LDS once again next week for early records of this area. We have sent for some that might help us. I'll sure let you know if I find something.

1910 - Corliss Shackford listed as head of household in 1910 Census, Newburyport, Essex, Massachusetts, age 27, married three years, born in Massachusetts. His father and mother born in Massachusetts. Wife Florence age 28, two children, both living. She and her parents were born in Massachusetts. Daughter Ruth age 1 8/12. Son no name age ?/12. Corliss' occupation is surveyer, lumber. He rents his home. (1910 census)

Thank you for the info. I am not researching the Hey surname. Sometimes, when I have time on my hands, I go hang out at the local cemeteries. I transcribe tombstones and place them online to help others. I know where Hey Road is. I lived on Hey Road back in the late '70's. Thanks again.

old Hey family photo album, Pa., Missouri & Germany

I have a very old Hey family photo album bought many years ago at a flea market. Apparently four siblings immigrated perhaps in the late 1880s or early 1890s and came to the Pittsburgh, Pa., area. The four were Lizzie [married Daniel Fauss], Dora M. [married Robert Moore], Christian [married Sophia E. Kainz], and "Grandmother" who is never named! I believe that Christian Hey moved on to Missouri. Some photos from Germany are probably from the family's town of origin. If this is your family, contact me and I can give you more information.
