HB Heymans was born in Doesburg, Netherlands,14 January 1763. He came to the Cape of Good Hope (date unknown) where he started the Heymans-family in South Africa.
His father: Hendrik Heymans (Roman Catholic, "Tamboer" 1st Bat Oranje Gelderland)
His mother: Metje Beukers (Amsterdam - Protestant).
With the 'diaspora' of the Afrikaner now taking place his decendants are not only in South Africa but in England, Scotland, Canada and Australia.
