I am trying to trace back the Hickle branch that my children woould be interested in. Wayne Hickle was their grandfather. None of them knew his father Park. They have a Bowling Green OH connection. I am the ex wife of Wayne's only son. Any helpin tracing this brnch of the Hickle famiy would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to find information on Robert Hickle. Born 1857 in PA. Married to Anna Thomas (May 1864). Children are Charles, Joseph, Edward, Harry, Frank, Fred, Paul, Paulina and Leslie. Miner/Teamster in Fayette Co. area. Family tradition also places him in California, Washington Co., Pennsylvania. Lived with son in Filbert, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania.

Carl Wilson married one of the three aunts of Ellen Belle Hickle (Fairchance, Fayette County, PA). I'm trying to find the name of Carl's 1st wife. They were married before WWI, divorced, had a child who died. Carl married Anna Cook second--also before WWI. Carl was killed in a mine accident. Anna remarried. Would appreciate anything about the Hickle girls and/or Anna Cook. I have an old faded photo of Carl and Anna. Will share. Thanks.

Brett--Yes, thank you. My dad is Alfred's oldest brother. Their Uncle Carl was married to one of Ellen Belle Hickle's aunts. I'm trying to find out which one. They had a daughter or twins who died in infancy. They were divorced and Carl married Anna Cook before going to WWI. He died in a coal mining accident when a cone of coal fell on him. Sorry i did not reply sooner. I have information that might be helpful. he was born october 8, 1875 in Cumberland Ohio. Je died July 10, 1956 in Modesto, Stanislaus, County, California. His father was John Hickle and his mother was nancy carolyn frye. He married alberta ringer who was born on February 9, 1876. Their children were Beulah Caroline Hickle born February 5, 1904 ohio, Eugene Jay Hickle born April 20, 1908 Ohio, Lester Clyde Hickle born November 12, 1910 Ohio, Jacob Thurman Hickle no birth date, and Lorne S. Hickle, no birth date.

Saw your message. My maiden name is Hickle. My grandfather was Albert Hickle and is buried in Cumberland, OH and died about 1957. We're not sure where he was born, but isn't it strange that there are two? He married Stella Bell.

My Grandfather is Wayne Hickle also. I am the daughter of his son, James Hickle. Wayne's father, Park did live in Bowling Green, Ohio. I do know the name's of Park's 3 sisters - Cleo, Pauline & Lola. I believe one of them lived in Perrysburg. I have just started trying to reseach the Hickle name and don't have much info the what I offered. I'm cureous as to why we don't know each other, is it possible that Wayne was married before he married my Grandmother, Laurabell Hickle or is she your Grandmother, also? Laurabell is still alive, but suffers badly of altimers (sp?). I would love to learn more & to hear from you.

All I have is that he was mentioned in his father Lewis' will probated in Jan. 1808 in Botetourt Co., VA. Apparently, George Hickle married Agnes Lemmon on Sept. 7, 1818.

I would like any information on Maynard L. (M.L.) Hickle born in Luttrel, Tn. about 1898. His parents were Thorn and Cord (Booker) Hickle. M.L. had brothers named Arnie, John, Os, and Andy. A sister Paralee. Thorn's father was John, I beleive. I'm interested in any information on ancesters that predate M.L. Hickle and their origins. M.L. had an older cousin named Parl Hickle. Any help will be appreciated.

I was looking for ezras parent but finally found them now looking for ezra brothers and sisters. ezra father was a william s hickle who was born in va and was married to a nancy hickle rutherford hickle in va and moved to tn around 1830's also looking for info about hubb cemetery in luttro tn. most of the hickle and hubbs buried there. any help or directions to find info would be usefull thanks again...... melissa

thank you for the information, Its helped me track down more on lewis,found his grave in the abstract graves of revelationary patriots and his name in the property tax list of 1794 botetourt co VA. This is more than I started out with. Right now I'm trying to track down ship manifest or passager list between 1760 and 1769. no luck yet If I find anything I'll let you know. I'm am curious I didnt think the name hickle was french but irish could he have picked up a french ship passing thru ireland? You said you had more info? melissa

Evenlyn, I'm curious to know if you have any information on John's brother, GEORGE HICKLE. I'm really looking for information about George's second wife, Margaret (Forgey) Roberts-Hickle.

I know that she and George were married August 14, 1820, in Knox Co., TN., and that they were recorded as residents of Knox Co., TN., on the 1830 census. I wonder if anyone knows when and where she passed away tho. Do you have any knowledge of this branch of the Hickle family?

Thanks. I was aware that George was mentioned in his father's (Lewis') Will in Botetourt Co., VA., however, I believe you are incorrect about a marriage for him to a woman named Agnes Lemmon in 1818. You apparently are referring here to another George Hickle altogether.

George Hickle, the son of Lewis Hickle, was born on November 4, 1767 and he was married first to Elizabeth Neal on August 20, 1800 in Jefferson Co., TN. She died on March 9, 1815, in Grainger Co., TN. Then George Hickle was re-married to my ancestress, Margaret (Forgey) Roberts on August 14, 1820 in Knox County, TN.

I believe that the George Hickle who was married to a woman named Agnes Lemon (or Lemmon as you have spelled it) was the son of John Hickle. Not Lewis Hickle. John Hickle was the only Hickle recorded on the 1810 census of Botetourt Co., VA. And he had a son who was under the age of 10 and another son who was 16-26 years of age. One of those two boys may have been the George Hickle who you referred to here. The George Hickle I'm referring to was born much earlier and had moved to Tennessee long before 1810, as evidenced by the fact that he was married in Tennesse in 1800.

However, on Ancestry.com your George Hickle, husband of Agnes "LEMON" is listed as a son of someone named Nelson Hickle. I have no idea if that is accurate or not tho.
