James J. Hickox died Sept. 16, 2004, at the Hildebrand Care Center in Cañon City, CO. Mr. Hickox was born in Divide on June 15, 1926.
He served as a front-line medic in the Philippines during World War II. In civilian life, he was employed by the Colorado Midland Terminal Railroad and Golden Cycle Corp., for 38 years and was co-owner of Cimino-Hickox Asphalt Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, James, Charles, William, Linda Myers; step-children, Bob Williams, Rick Williams, Dave Williams and Kathy Albrecht; brothers, Cliff Hickox and Melvin Hickox; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hickox is preceded in death by his daughter, Susie Spry.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
