I have just sent our "friends" a message thru their "Contact Us" link on their website. It says:

[QUOTE]
Why do you people constantly spam the Ancestry Message boards?

It really is counterproductive.
I can get you MUCH more notice just by badmouthing your actions on genealogical Message boards and Blogs. Shall I demonstrate?
[END QUOTE]

I intend to add the following sigline to all future messages:
"AncestralBooks is a spammer- Do not do business with them!"

On my chart it states Land records, Sequatchie Co. register, Book printed in 1898 in possession of Mrs. S.B. Wilson, Dunlap Tn. The family bible of Thompson (thomas) Hicks is in possession of Mrs. Hodge Lewis. The person who actuall fixed this chart is Thomas I. Hicks 613 court st. Maryvile, Tn 37801 June 8, 1967. Isaac did marry martha ashburn their children names are born 1820-stephen ,hamilton county, Elijah- died in child birth, thomas or thompson born 1823 married nancy ann bennett, martin-died in child birth, james died in 1853, isaac born 1830 whom had 2 sons that were dentists, nancy whom married wm bennett, joseph o. elizabeth whom married joesph bennett, and martha whom married Wm Kell and moved to warren county. My Grandfather was Douglas Joeseph Hicks and his father was Charles Hicks also from Heston. I beleive his father was John who was married to Hannah. We managed to trace John back to Newington in Oxfordshire to a village called Hornton. My dad has all the excact details but he is away at the moment. Itw Would be very exciting if we are tracing the same people.

Regards Dawn Shiner nee Hicks

I am looking for any information regarding William Dolphin and Georgiann (Hicks) Scott. Georgiann was born in 1868 in Louisiana, married William in 1890 in perhaps Sevier Co, Arkansas. They had two children that I know of, Claude and another child that passed away as a child, I believe. This family lived in Oklahoma (Idabel, McCurtain Co.) as well, where William passed away in 1937. Georgiann was still in Idabel in 1942. She is not buried near her husband and I don't know where Claude went. They seemed to have just disappeared.

Hi Martha,
I'm researching Cintha/Syntha or Cynthia Hicks who married Thomas A. Carrington 14 Aug 1856 in Carroll TN, bm Edmond R. Palmer. Do you her parents and where and when they were in Carroll or elsewhere? Some of these Hicks seem to be in Marshall Co MS 1850 with some connection Carrington families. A Cythia Carey married Joseph Hicks 1859 in Marshall Co MS.

Gary

Hi Simonetta,

Yes, your HICKS branch is related to my own. I spent a long time researching the family through the parish registers, and have a fairly complete tree, certainly as far as Berrynarbor is concerned.

John Haskings Hicks was baptised 18th September 1842 at Berrynarbor, to Richard Hicks and his wife Mary nee Haskings. He would have been my 2nd cousin 4 times removed.

Drop me a line directly, on jankingshott@blueyonder.co.uk , aand I can send you more details. I would also love to add your branch to the tree. It is always nice to find new cousins out there!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Jan

My Clara Walker married Thomas James Hart who was born 1859. At 21, Thomas Hart spent time in Nevada as a miner, I picked up that information from the 1880 U.S. Federal census. Not sure if we have a thread?? Thanks for your time.

Moses Hicks

Searching for information on Moses Hicks. He is between 16 and 26 on the 1820 census (the only census he is listed) in Burke County, North Carolina. According to the estate and guardianship records, he died in Mar 1823 leaving his wife, Matilda and two children, Annis and James. I do not know Matildas maiden name/parents/etc and can find no record of her after 1837 and she is not listed on the census after Moses death, so she either remarried or died (or remarried then died). According to the guardianship records, Moses brother Daniel was executor of Moses will and guardian of the children. Daniel and therefore, Moses, had another brother, James. Daniel married Elizabeth Higgins, daughter of Mills Higgins and Sarah Young. James married Elizabeths sister Anna.

I have been hunting for James M Hicks b Sep 1822 who married Sarah E Greene in 1850 in North Carolina. Trying to find his family. Believe that Moses may be his father. Many researchers have erroneously claimed that he is James Madison Hicks, however, there is no proof of his middle name, or at least, no other researcher making this claim has been willing to provide me with proof.

This family lived in present day McDowell County, North Carolina which was formed in 1842. Prior to that, this area was claimed by Burke County and before that Rowan County.

I really would like to find any information on Moses and/or Matilda.

Please email me directly at jmcolby_hicks@yahoo.com if you should have any information to share.
