I have an Augustus, or Augusta Jerome "Rome" Higginbotham in my database, born about 1844 in Kentucky. He is listed on the 1850 Census in Warren County. He was the son of James Higginbotham Jr. (1789-1852) and Sarah Shields (ca1805-????).

Roscoe Higginbotham has a lot of information on the Kentucky branch of Higginbothams. If he is monitoring the board he may have the answers you seek.

bunk and bert are not the same people, they are brothers, bunk was born in1880 and bert was born May 15,1888. I have information and documentation on Bert H Higginbotham/Hickenbotham, I also have information on Alice B Victoia Welch, who was Bert 1st wife and Addie Dutton who was Bert 2nd wife. Allen Bane Higginbotham, Commander, U S Navy, Retired, died on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Balboa Hospital, in San Diego. He was 53 years old.

Commander Higginbotham was b Oct 24, 1955 in Portsmouth, VA.

He is survived by wife, Vicki Fredericks of San Diego, and two daughters, Julia & Claire, etc., He is also survived by his parents, Allen and Linda Higginbotham of Sarasota, FL, sister Ann, and two brothers, David & Robert of VA.

I lost all of my info on my puter just after I had talked with you here, I wasn't able to make the reunion in 2003 either. I was so hoping that maybe you might have info on either Charles or Dale Higginbotham..
Since I am having to start from the beginning or if maybe someone else might that is reading this post Charles would have been born abt. 1930 and Dale sometime after Charles.

This is just a note of thanks to George Brian BAUER, rbull@facstaff.wisc.edu, for his compilation of the discussion threads re: whether Higginbothams originated via England, Barbados, etc.

At the end of the compiled informative articles was information I have sought for some time! ISABELLA DONNA INCY HIGGINBOTHAM, wife of BURROUGHS HIGGINBOTHAM. Burroughs has many spellings such as BURROWS, BURRIS, BURROWS. Some historical recordings which use many of these names is found in the online Florida Archives for their Spanish Royal Land Grants for, first 200 acres, then a total of 700 acres in what was then the Florida Territory before acquisition by the USA. That property is now located in Nassau County, FL along the St. Mary's River.

The article re: ISABELLA DONNA INCY said: One of our Thomas HIGGINBOTHAM's older sons was Burrus HIGGINBOTHAM who later moved from Georgia to Florida. Burrus' first wife was Isabella LOWE, daughter of Isaac LOWE. Isaac LOWE died in Richmond County, GA in 1790. His will apparently gives clear evidence that the LOWE family were Quakers from Pennsylvania. Lancaster County, for those of you who don't know, is the heart of Quaker Country in Pennsylvania.

I really Don't have anything on David Rush other than his parents were born in Pa. according to the 1850, 1870 and 1880 Federal Census "South Homer, Champaign County, IL.". My family tie is with Mary Ellen. I do have all there children names and birth dates. I don't know if that would help you, but will email it to you if you would like, there is a list of 9 children. I know it's been a couple of years since you posted your msg about the pictures of Higginbotham Ranch but if it's not too late I would like to get a copy of them. I am researching my mothers family history and have hit a roadblock of sorts. No one can tell me how my great-grandfather and great-grandmother passed in 1898. Supposedly it was together and my grandfather Albert Higginbotham was approximately 3 years old. There were 7 other children that I know of, Haymond, Jerry, Lambdin, Nancy Jean, Betty, Myrtle, and Sarah Ann. The children were all placed with relatives but I can not find records that give me any inforamtion about their deaths. Any information in this puzzle would be greatly appreciated. I pieced together the family history forwards and backwards, but would really like to know what happened to them. Thanks, Geri

My great granddad is Morris from Callahan, Florida. Buried in the Keen Family Cemetary there off Raqtliff Raod. Where he lived and greww up. He worked for Mr. Higginbotham on his dairy farm there. His wife Pearl was a full blooded indian from Georgia. They had kids named Mildred (Kirchaine) my grand mother, Winnifrey, Winnifed (Boyer, Morris J.R. I would love to talketo anyone with info about this family. They were Keen's Carter's and Young in the line my aunt said.

James Edward Higginbotham was born in Dixieana Alabama in 1829 to Lois and James Washington Higginbotham. He had one sister named Dorothy. He married Betty H Peters. Unable to have their own children they adopted three children Robin, Leilani and James Edward Higginbotham Jr.
