Hi,
I came across references to Hilditch in the Recusancy rolls in Staffordshire, dating from the time of Elizabeth 1. These have been published by the Staffordshire (Historical?) Society. ( I may have a copy of the reference somewhere in my notes) There are also references to Hilditch family members in the parish of Betley in Staffordshire, dating from the 1500s.
