I am a Hildreth by marriage. I started researching the Hildreth name about 15 years or more ago and have an extensive family history. My husband's Hildreth side started one of the lines in NY by way of Sylvester (b.1790), son of Edward (b.1766 in NH). I would be happy to share any information I have with you.
It's interesting to note (if I remember reading correctly)that you have Ganoung as a family name too. My mother is a "Ganong" from NY.
