Hi, my name is Becky Hildreth and I live in Denbigh, North Wales. There are only a handful of Hildreths that I know of in this country and most of them are my family. I have been searching the net to find other Hildreths and to see where the name is most common. I have been found by another Becky Hildreth and she and I e mail each other on a regular basis, i would really like to be able to find another good friend by the name of hildreth.

Maria (Lambert) (Mack) Hildreth; connection to Florence Adell (Hart) Mott ?

I just received information from obits on the Florence Adell Mott I have been chasing for years and find that she was born Feb 1855 in NY to Truman A. Hart and wife Esther E. (---). Florence md. William H. Mott ca 1881 and they had a son Truman A. Mott.
My question about Florence is this: what was her connection to a Maria (Lambert ) (Mack) Hildreth? In the will of Maria who died 1888 she left $50.00 to Florence Adell Mott, no relationship mentioned as was done with the others to whom she made provisions. Somewhere in my Mack/Almy ancestry there is a known but unknown Mott family connection but it continues eludes the two of us who have some photos and other items that prove there is a connection but we just cannot find it. Also, the middle name Adell has been used by others who were known Mack descendants connected to my line/ancestry.

Am hoping someone can finally solve this mystery....

According to the IGI, Carrie Hildrette married Oliver L. Reynolds on 7 Mar 1877 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota. I can find no record of the surname "Hildrette" in any other source, so I believe it to be a recording error. In 1910, I find the family living in Springfield, Missouri, where Carrie and Oliver are buried in Maple Park Cemetery. The census indicates Caroline was born in New York about 1858. Does this Caroline sound familiar to anyone??

Charles Hildreth, MA and NH??

Mehitable Trask, b.1803 was married to Charles Hildreth b.1794;d.1830; both from MA. That union bore 2 children: Charles Hildreth and Mary Hildreth. Then Mehitabel married Foster Woodward and moved to NH and bore 5 more children. I can find nothing about what happened to the Hildreth offspring. I believe young Charles to be my GGGGrandfather. If someone could help me find where he was reared, I could fill in the details to now. Be glad to swap info.
Hildreth/Johnson

My paternal greatt-great-grandmother was Flora Belle (Hildreth) Johnson. She was the wife of John Virgil Johnson. They were the parents of my paternal great-grandmother Ruth Marjorie. I've been pretty lucky with finding the Hildreth information. But John Virgil is not so easy to find. He was a Spanish-American War Veteran and later was a brake man for the rail road. He was killed after being struck by a train on January 1, 1904 (maybe 1905). I may have found him in a census report from 1880, but that has yet to be confirmed. He was most likley born in Blue Ridge GA. Anyone with any information please contact me at deeka.english@sbcglobal.net
Thank you!

HILDRETHs in Westford, Middlesex Co., MA
I have just posted marriage records from Westford, Middlesex Co., MA, that include a great many HILDRETHs. These were extracted from the History of the Town of Westford 1659 - 1883 by Rev. Edwin R. HODGMAN, A. M. 1883. Part 1 contains marriage records by the town ministers from 1728 to 1827. Part 2 covers the same years, but has records extracted from other sources such as the records of neighboring towns, of Justices of the Peace, etc. Part 2 also includes a lengthy list of Intention of Marriage filings for which no actual marriage record could be found. These files can be found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdevlin/

Jane Devlin
Lake Orion, MI
DUNHAM - WILCOX - TROTT - KIRK
over 1000 data files from CT, MA, RI, NJ, NY & MI

Luke Hildreth

I am trying to tace the American side of my family. It is said that Luke Hildreth, a seafarer, jumped ship in Greenock Scotland after a row with his father, the Captain of the vessel. He was born in Boston???? He died in Greenock, scotland in 1812. He was married twice and siring three children???? This would seem to be immigration in reverse. The history from that time forward is available and is almost complete but from an entry in 1803 in a family Bible back we have nothing. Is there a record of a Luke Hildreth in the Boston area or for that matter anywhere??

My mother's mother was a Hildreth. (Wells and Cora Hildreth).
I was told that the Hildreth's and the Frank E. Barber family (in and around the Brattleboro/Dummerston Vt area) were related. (Frank E. Barber was the guradian for my mother's uncle Everett Hildreth). I went to a funeral for a Barber family member and my mother telling me that her family (Hildreth) was related to the Barber family. However, I never did learn how the family was related.
Any information you have would be great. I have bits and pieces of information but nothing to tie it all together.
Thanks for your help.

I am searching for the parents of Betsey Hildreth, my ancestress. I know that she was born in or near Lewiston, Maine in 1775, and that in May of 1799, she married Aaron Whitney, also of Maine. I know nothing of his parents, either. I do know that they had 9 children (at least), for whom I have names. I am descended from their daughter, Reliance Small Whitney. I know further that Betsey died at the age of 44 in 1819. Can anyone enlighten me further?

My family - the Hildreths - are trying to find information on the origin of the Hildreth. We've been asking aunts, uncles, great-aunts uncles, etc., and no one is exactly sure or everyone has their own version on where we're from. My mom is Emily Hildreth. My mom is one out of 11 children born to Charles Hildreth and Emily Bell Hildreth. Unfortunately, my mom's parents both passed away by the time she was 16.

We're also looking for one of my mother's brothers, William (Billy) Hildreth, who is in his 30's.
Hi. I'm a kid (can't give age but I'm between 8 & 11) anyway like the subject I'm want to know lots about my family history (Hildreth, duh) I also have info you may want, such as Richard Hildreth was on the Mayflower & is one of the original brothers that came or he is a Historion (how ever you spell it) I also have Pictures of Hildreth from the 1800's & 1900's. If you want to see them or you're interested in my knowledge about the family, e-mail me at hiphopgroovy@aol.com I also have a "mystery photo" and nobody knows who the people are in it except me. If yu want to see it, e-mail me with my e-mail address.
