This is really interesting information. My great great grand mother was Susannah Hiles and married Elijah Hawk in 1864. She is listed as 25 in the 1870 census, so the age seems to be about right with the Susanna listed as 6 in the 1850 census. Elijah was in a civil war regiment with Henry Hiles, so that could be how he met Susannah. Pension record show Susannah as a widow, now named Susannah Marshall applying for widows benefits of Elijah's in 1884, so Elijah must have died around then. I hope there is enough here to lead to more information. Thanks so much for your help
