I am not necessarily researching Francis Hilferty, but rather a Mary E Hilferty,whom I believe to be my maternal GGM. It is believed that she emigrated t theUS at an early age possibly from England.I believe she lived in a section of Philadelphia Pa knownas "Spring Garden or around 38th & Wallace St., prior to marrying my GGF Edward McGinty.
My calculations based on her Death Certificate would have her as born in 1861,probably in Ireland,perhaps Donegal. She emigrated to the US at an early age(?); Mary and Edward had one daughter Mary McGinty Boyce - my maternal GM,who died in childbirth in 1922.
