Frederick Hilgendorf

My father did a search of his ancestors and where they came from in Germany. He found out that they came from Rakow, Germany (Pomerania). His grandparents names were Frederick(born 12-27-1856) and Sophie (Krumwiede) Hilgendorf. Frederick's parents were Daniel and Maria (nee Drews) Hilgendorf. Maria and her 4 children came to America after Daniel died and settled in Cook and Dupage County by Thorton and Blue Island . Apparently she had followed some of her relatives to this location. My father makes mention of these relatives in a book he wrote about his findings. He states that there was another Frederick and Sophia Hilgendorf that he had found out about that come to America in 1853. These could be the people that you are searching for.
