I have found your Sophie Hilgendorf was a sponsor for a sister of the ancestor I previously wrote about. Her name is Frederike Wilhelmine Marie Rossow, born 1864 in Thurow. I guess that means they immigrated sometime after that. We may have a very definite connection, as my ancestors left in 1866 but didn't arrive in Chicago until 1868 and I have always wondered if they stayed somewhere else with relatives, for a couple of years. What else do you have on this family?
