Andrea-
I came across references to the Hilger family in Pierre SD when I was researching my grandmother's uncle, Michael Reisdorfer. One of the witnesses at his wedding in 1883 was Anson Hilger, and JD Hilger was a godparent to his daughter born 1885. I started working on them because my 2g-grandmother was a Hilger...they are all from Sandweiler Luxembourg. Daniel's brother Michael is my 3g-grandfather...I didn't know so many of my Luxembourg relatives ended up in the US!
Don't have much on Anson's family, besides what you have...I do have a son Edward D., age 9 in 1880, 1st communion in Pierre 1883, lose him after that.
For John D- he went back to Minnesota and raised a family of doctors...they seemed to be a fairly prominent family in St. Paul...David, Andrew, Josephine, John, Leo and RobertI..I think Andrew W. may be your "Willie"
E-mail me if you want more info...I'd like to compare notes.
