My mother was a Hilgers. Her grandfather was a Peter Hilgers son of Martin son of Nicholas (I think). Can you give some dates for these names? Our branch of Hilgers ended up in Central Wisconsin (Wisconsin Rapids, Wood County). According to my recollection, Martin was the one to immigrate from Germany (possible defector from the army). Peter was in a large family, but I don't have the list with me right now.
