Michael Hilgers m. Gertrude Louese

I am interested in contacting any descendants of Michael Hilgers, b. Dusseldorf, Germany abt. 1803, married Gertrude Louese in the late 1820's. Michael died in Germany and Gertrude brought the 5 sons to the US, going to an uncle's family in Wisconsin. The sons were: Michael, John, Charles, Theodore, and William. Supposedly, Charles was born at Khelm, Germany, but I have had people tell me there is no such place. His mother, Gertrude, went with him and his wife, to Kansas after he served in the Civil War. I would appreciate any information anyone could share. This has all been passed down through the family and I am not sure how accurate it is.
